Over hang of shares to delisting on a stock exchange and delays in payments in past, market not realizing wen is debt free

Why is this so cheap?
the current scuffs level here equates to 11200boepd, which would value a company at around £428m, 10x the current mcap, I've based this on buyout of 2-3 companies on AIM over the last 2 years, one producing 17000boepd the other 10000boepd.

I watched it and thought Katherine came across very well in reasons for potentially investing here. There was little beyond what we already know, but guess that was to be expected. There may be a follow up for her, as time capped her being able to answer a number of questions.

Katherine is on the proactive investors event tonight, I'll be logging in to see if she drops any hints as to the future, which is possible as it's an investors event.

Good to see the price has started moving up over the past couple of weeks. I see Katherine Roe in on the panel for the proactive investors energy event on Thursday.

If anyone is interested in seeing what she has to say, here is the link

She was on the Board at Faroe Petroleum before she was appointed CEO here. Also John Bentley (NED here) was Chairman at Faroe. LBE is the continuation of Faroe, under a different name after it was taken over by DNO. Musical chairs in the Boardroom, most of Faroe have started again at LBE and/or here. Bentley departure from Faroe was by ousting, having resisted the DNO takeover.

LBE personnel are expert about the Norwegian Sea (where Faroe was strong) but sadly that's not much help in Tanzania.

The one sometimes mooted is SEY.L, Sterling Energy. They have cash running down and need a project before it runs out. Again, they can't afford WEN, and only have one asset, a farmed prospect in ... Somaliland. (Somalia? Yikes. They seem to love war zones. Formerly had an interest in Kurdistan which ruined the company.) Now cash shell controlled by Russian oligarch Mikhail Kroupeev. Perhaps Eskil Jersing wanted to link up with Sterling, but Bentley, Roe and co said no? (Just speculating.)

WEN don't need a deal. It would be wise to get more Reserves to convince the market that the dividend is secure, then it would re-rate, and Katharine can make whatever deal they are looking at.

7.5% dividend yield is a lot. If the share price went to 0.30 the DY would be 4.8%, which would be sustainable if Reserves support it.

Nice ending to a good week. Summat oop? Or just in line with POO?

Anyone know if there is a limit how long they can be in closed period? If they haven't anything to announce they should update the market.

I don't think they ever announced why Jersing left. Presumably he had a proposal but didn't get backing?

Wbodger thanks , never thought of the stake buyout makes complete sense.
they could do this with part cash part shares , then shares sold to market.

Yes this share has traded in such a narrow range for the past couple of years, it has got to break the 23p two year ceiling at some stage. I'm not sure why this does not attract greater interest, as they make healthy profits, are debt free and pay a decent dividend, what's not to like.......

The Best option is AEX as fully funded for drill program , unless they wait for SCIR to go bankrupt.
Wentworth have stated no deal as Wentworth share price too low

My hope is that they use their financial position to seize this moment of maximum pessimism and do a deal with AEX or SCIR - exactly how that deal is shaped is potentially complex but WEN have had plenty of time to plan their strategy.
