A few souls yesterday in the rather lovely battersea power station shopping centre WOSG branch- scarey price for a £36k gold rolex on display.
Not a holder but watching to see if anything picks up at all here.

Issues with Rolex, Chinese buyers gone (corruption clamp down and Vat benefit gone), COVID boom gone - why do people expect this to go up?

It seems the medium term concern was about the future relation with Rolex, but according to the trading update, the weakness has been in non-branded jewellery, not in "branded luxury watches", what it's quite positive.

Adding to 370 @ 380Massively overdone drop, stabilise and push up given decent enough performance at this level. Hermes top end luxury strong today on resilience and even raising prices Long term assured and a target if this low for longThe US percentages look remarkably similar to Flutter at 40pc of whole and rising at 1pc per month. Both will be US major rev this time next year & Flutter have listed in NY so an option here. Arm boys done ok

Fuji do you think the UK economy is picking up? I'm not seeing it in London. The big problem with reversing the tourist tax is the hospitality industry is already desperately short of staff after Brexit and the pandemic. I think it can only be reversed if there was also a visa scheme for EU workers under 25 to work in hospitality. Maybe a future Labour government would do this.

Update confirms what we already know. The big plus is that nothing is deteriorating with a good growth in the larger US market and elsewhere except in the UK, stagnating for the time being. So overall this looks positive and is the base for restarting strong growth from now on, as economies start picking up again.

IMO all the negatives were out in the last update. The worst case scenario is to say things did not improve since last time so everything remains as before - Meaning nothing should change or drastically affect the share price up or down (my own opinion of course).
Last January update:
"In light of the recent challenging trading conditions and based on a more cautious view of the outlook for the remainder of the fiscal year, management is now providing revised full year guidance for FY24, which assumes no recovery in consumer demand and reflects discussions with key brands."

Mind you if next Thursday it'll flag up something positive, you'll get really burnt. The increments in share price swings on here are dizzy ones as it did when it dropped almost 300p in one single day. At the same time it can also rise 200p in one session... One has to be very careful with this one. Difficult to trade and difficult to short at this level.
Shorts are also under 1%:

The next Trading Update (Q3) will be announced next Thursday the 8th of Feb.

IMO the sharp 50%+ drop from £8 to where we are now has probably assumed the worst case scenario.

Any decent update will kickstart a recovery in the share price which is at 5 year low.
