13/1/2021 10:55 | I have said it so many times but many of these companies will be waiting for 5G. This will change things for VRE too. The following is for BLU but applicable to here I believe, too. It was politics as we know with the US UK China trade problems that set us back. Blue Star Capital @BlueStarCap #BLU #eSports ESPORTS AND 5G ➥5G technology is expected to be crucial in the growth of the eSports industry - particularly within mobile gaming and streaming ➥5G will transform viewer experience with faster download speeds and gameplay experience | hazl
12/1/2021 16:41 | I notice there was a business update on 16 January last year, so I would hope there will be a trading update quite soon. The excitement here isn't exactly palpable if you look at the trading volumes, so unfortunately I anticipate lots of promises again, rather than a dramatic increase in sales activity. if the share price is anything to go by. It shouldn't be that way, judging by all the VR hype that manages to squeeze into every nook and cranny ! Sure Ventures favourably mentioned one of its other stable members recently, so in due course, I hope to see them praising VRE in similar fashion. | corrientes

11/1/2021 15:56 | The Drum 'The explosion of video meetings and unique demands of remote working are damaging both the wellbeing of adland’s talent and the creative process they hold dear. So says author and branding expert Martin Lindstrom, who tells Ian Burrell what we should do when creatives have no space to think and ideas are being strangled by corporate culture. The creative process is being crushed by an avalanche of Zoom conference calls, calendar invites, PowerPoint presentations and remote working. That’s the view of global brand expert Martin Lindstrom, who says the new culture of video conferencing and home working is sapping the energy of art directors and copywriters. He reports anecdotal evidence that creatives are seeking therapy for psychological problems experienced as a result of the shift in working conditions. Talking to The Drum, Lindstrom laments the demise of the water cooler, an office beacon for interaction and creativity that all but disappeared in 2020 as agencies were forced to adapt their practices in the face for Covid-19. “There are no water cooler moments any more, those moments when you would connect with colleagues,” he says. “People are sitting behind a screen instead. Zoom came in with [Microsoft] Teams, BlueJeans and [Google] Hangouts and suddenly we were pinned on to a calendar with a fixed framework of when a meeting starts and ends.” I think we are still needed for those meetings where creative people can communicate. | hazl

11/1/2021 09:55 | The sales of AR, MR, and VR devices have evolved drastically over the last few years, but IDTechEx believes that there’s still plenty of room for growth up to 2030. The evolution of extended reality is one of the areas currently benefiting from the rise of new demands following the pandemic of 2020. The year’s challenges brought the versatility of mixed, augmented, and virtual reality products into focus, with hands-free and interactive technology at heart. In the future, the need for innovative technology in the extended reality environment will only continue to grow, with new use cases appearing all the time. From above link. | hazl
