interesting that directors have bought and talk of utility deal in the offing.give this a few months and another holding might be on my cards.

I think I said when the results came out that I may have been too generous. I was surprised how poor the results were. I would not be surprised at a fund raising soon. Maybe the reason for the director buys was to buoy up the share price in anticipation.

VPHASE VOLTAGE OPTIMISATION DEVICE ON SHOW AT GRAND DESIGNS

LIVE 2011By Rebecca Gallaway @ 11th May 2011 09:05:00Events / Exhibitions Feeds

Saving between 6-12% on home electricity bills the award winning VPhase voltage optimisation device will be exhibiting at this year's Grand Designs Live (30th April until the 8th May) at London's Excel. The VPhase device delivers immediate and significant money, energy and carbon savings across the whole home, without requiring any change in lifestyle or consumer behaviour.

The smart low-cost VPhase unit, which has recently won the "North West Innovator Award" at the North West Business Masters 2011, uses proven voltage optimisation technology to reduce and stabilise the incoming voltage to homes, managing it to a stable level of typically 220V in the UK. The result is reductions to electricity costs of between 6-12%. VPhase also delivers carbon savings, which have been calculated to be between 2.5 tonnes and 4.5 tonnes over the expected life of the product " the equivalent of driving roughly 22,000km in an average size family car.

VPhase Head of Marketing, Matt Cody comments "We're extremely excited about exhibiting at Grand Designs as not only will this be our first time at the UK's number-one show for design and inspiration for the home, but it is a fantastic opportunity to meet our customers face to face and provide them with useful information and advice.

The VPhase unit is widely recognised as an effective green investment for 'eco' and 'cash' conscious consumers. As it also improves the benefits of solar PV and other green tech, it is increasingly being bundled with other energy efficiency technology. With significant reductions in CO2 emissions with every installation and homeowners saving money off their electricity bills the unit is a must see at this year's event."

VPhase must be installed by a qualified electrician and is maintenance free, making it a case of fit, forget and save instantly! With the unit having a payback of typically less than 5 years and with a 5 year warranty it represents a virtually risk free green investment for the home.

Apologies if this paper has been cited before. It's 7 years ago but the discussion is still relevant today. It concludes..

"The results reveal that although supply voltage variations may affect power consumption, the use of certain modern appliances will ensure that the overall change in energy cost can be minimal......voltage variation from the consumers point of view has minimal effect on the cost of electrical energy."

Not particularly popular with the electrical trade, see IET forum

Electricians can't see a good enough return on investment to persuade their clients to part with a fair chunk of cash for the Vphase, new consumer unit and installation/reconfiguration.

That IMO limits it to new build or to house rewire/consumer unit replacement jobs.

Looks like the directors' attempt to stem the fall has failed. The company needs some credible sales, not token director buys.

Notes to Editors:

About VPhase PLC

VPhase plc provides a product that reduces the energy consumption of many domestic electrical appliances.

The VPhase device:

-- attaches to the consumer unit (fuse box) and regulates the voltage to 220 volts;

-- is low cost, with a payback of under 5 years;

-- easy to fit by a qualified electrician;

-- saves money from the moment of installation, with no need for behavioural changes;

-- enables many appliances to work more efficiently; and

-- reduces electricity usage and carbon emissions.

Independently verified tests by VPhase have demonstrated that the product can typically save between 6% and 12% of the electricity across a range of domestic products including fridges, freezers, central heating pumps, televisions and other items, even 'energy-saving' light bulbs. This should equate to savings for the typical homeowner of between GBP40 and GBP135 per annum.

In addition, there is evidence that the life of electrical appliances can be extended by the use of this product; light bulbs, in particular, have demonstrated at least two times longer life when on a circuit managed by the voltage optimisation product as compared to those without the product.
