11/2/2015 17:16 | Yes, I was looking at your above November link, which both Savills and TCR(JV) are on and from whom I understand the work would be subcontracted. Regardless of the dates, as you say it is the potential opportunities that stand out. Savills does seem a promising pairing given that they are one of only a few 'property/building' companies on the list (most of the rest seem to be the transport planning and traffic engineering majors). So I'd hope that their need for technical advice would neatly fall down to JMP as their 'partner'. Also positive is that TCR were on the 2010-14 panel and at that time used MVA as their transport consultants. JMP have obviously taken their place this time. | rp19
11/2/2015 13:51 | The news is dated 10th February - yesterday - per the article. I suspect that you're looking at the initial panel appointments made in November. JMP aren't on this list so will presumably be an additional appointee this week: You certainly couldn't get a better list of influential names to work with! | rivaldo
11/2/2015 13:03 | Good news and potential for opportunities as you say. Seems as if it was announced back in November 2014. | rp19
11/2/2015 11:59 | Important news - should bring about lots of opportunities for JMP with £100 million of procurement to arrange: "JMP appointment on HCA multi-disciplinary panel 10/02/2015 - 06:22 JMP is pleased to announce our successful appointment with two leading teams (Savills and Tibbalds Campbell Reith) to the Homes and Communities Agency’s (HCA) Multi-Disciplinary panel. Running from 2014 to 2018, the framework provides a range of technical development-related services to a wide variety of public sector bodies. This will support the HCA’s expanding land role, whilst also helping other public bodies dispose of their land more quickly. The panel will be used to procure up to £100 million in development related services including planning, architectural, engineering, infrastructure and project management advice, and property consultancy The HCA panel is available for use free of charge by other public sector bodies, and offers a quick and efficient means to procure high quality, good value technical services, including transport, engineering and planning expertise. Through our lead partners, the groups of specialists have a wide regional coverage throughout England, enabling bespoke teams to be brought together with the best skills to suit each individual project, with genuine local knowledge and contacts, and a focus on placemaking and delivery. The core skills covered by JMP are Transport Planning, Highways and Infrastructure, Masterplanning, Water Management and Structural Engineering with seven offices in England covering all HCA regions (Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds, Liverpool, London, Manchester and Newcastle), plus three offices in Scotland. The HCA welcomes and encourages the use of the framework by other public bodies, such as Local Authorities and other Government departments, with users reporting significant savings in procurement time and competitive rates when compared to other panels or open tenders. Alan James, Executive Director at JMP commented: “We are delighted to be part of two excellent teams on the HCA framework, and we look forward to bringing our specialist expertise to bear in assisting the agency and other public sector bodies in the successful delivery of their plans.” | rivaldo
05/2/2015 15:31 | LOL pmf. And completely agreed. Who just bought that 1k at 305p then?! | rivaldo
05/2/2015 10:17 | plentymorefish - Think of the bb's as a dividend. For a company like this who concentrate on NAV it is better value and more tax efficient to do bb's rather then a cash dividend. JAF- its true this is not a share to trade but I personally had no problem building up a holding of 6K shares in 4 purchases | mathewawood
05/2/2015 09:10 | In VLE's case it's two months before results, i.e usually around mid-March onwards (the closed period rule is either (a) from the year end date itself, or (b) from two months before results if the period from year end to results date is longer than two months). The way to buy VLE is in small parcels of shares of 1k up to 2.5k shares and to build a holding. It can be done pretty easily in my experience. Though VLE have just found 60k to buy back... | rivaldo
05/2/2015 09:03 | Hi Rivaldo - When does the closed period begin? Thanks. | rp19
05/2/2015 08:54 | sladdjo - yep, thought the same re the amount so still could have an eye on something juicy to buy....looking forward to next update... | plentymorefish
05/2/2015 08:34 | Has never been easy to deal in any size.....too illiquid / very frustrating! | jaf111
05/2/2015 08:16 | pmf - its only ~ £180k, we've got ~ £12m in the bank so hardly hurting the dry powder. Only worth investing in turnarounds if they are cheaper than the current share price. Historically, VLE seems to have bought back when mrtk cap is ~ cash on b/s, so as rivaldo points out hopefully underlying business has further improved and returned cash to parent comp. | sladdjo
05/2/2015 08:00 | Here's hoping....it's been a while since we've seen any bb's and that's a decent amount...only thing is don't bb's indicate that the comp can't think of a better use for the cash....as an aquisition/turn around specialist does that mean no deals closeby?... | plentymorefish
05/2/2015 07:18 | Nice - a buyback of £180,000 of stock at 300p...and just before the closed period for the results starts. If I was a betting man I'd say the results will be good and VLE want to buy in shares beforehand to maximise value: | rivaldo
16/1/2015 07:25 | More work for JMP: "Operational: Issue 273 15 Jan 2015 Scottish hospital trust wants to increase parking capacity NHS Ayrshire and Arran Foundation Trust looking at ways to increase capacity and control of its car parks, options include introduction of parking wardens and CCTV at the sites. The trust commissioned JMP Consultants to carry out parking surveys and devise a travel for each site. A trust spokeswoman Louise Christie said: “A survey found that at University Hospital Crosshouse, the car park reaches and exceeded capacity (104%) at visiting time (3pm), which leads to inappropriate... etc" | rivaldo
04/1/2015 08:28 | Excellent December'14 newsletter from JMP, showing the range of their services and contracts undertaken: I hadn't realised they were such experts in Drainage Systems, SUDS etc - this is going to become a bigger and bigger issue over time. | rivaldo
02/1/2015 08:51 | I note that sellers are now getting 300p - almost the mid-price. So even if the buybacks have stopped, it seems there's other demand out there. | rivaldo
01/1/2015 19:29 | Cheers Riv, happy new year to you too....here's to a successful 2015 for us all! | plentymorefish
31/12/2014 07:34 | Hi pmf, no problems. As regards the buybacks, just a thought - perhaps VLE are in the throes of negotiating a rather larger acquisition than before given the £12m+ cash pile, so wish to preserve their firepower? It's been a while since the JMP acquisition, and since both JMP and Shire Foods appear to now have been bedded in, we might start to look forward to the next one. Happy New Year to you and all VLE'ers - 2014 worked out pretty well, and VLE looks in excellent shape going into 2015. | rivaldo
29/12/2014 20:20 | Thanks for keeping the updates coming Riv. I noticed the bb's have stopped, have you any musings on why? | plentymorefish
29/12/2014 11:38 | It's been a decent 2014 for VLE, with a 14% rise in a poor market, especially for AIM stocks. But a lot more to come imo for 2015, especially once the 2014 results are released with what should be continuing further improvements - and say £12.5m-£ | rivaldo
21/12/2014 08:01 | JMP re-appointed for ongoing travel consultancy in York: "Lessons learned from challenging travel behaviour in York Submitted by Leanne Farrow on Fri, 19/12/2014 - 11:42 JMP has delivered another successful year of Personal Travel Planning (PTP) in the city of York, bringing the original two year Local Sustainable Transport Fund (LSTF) intervention to completion. So we are delighted to announce that we have just been appointed to continue with the delivery of PTP next year, following the Council’s successful bid for further LSTF funding for 2015/16. etc" | rivaldo
15/12/2014 14:06 | A move up :o)) VLE is certainly a nice safe haven in these markets. | rivaldo
03/12/2014 07:34 | JMP appointed by the NHS re parking schemes at two hospitals - hopefully the first of many for the NHS: | rivaldo |
