RNS Number:5362S First Artist Corporation PLC 12 October 2005 12 October 2005 First Artist Corporation plc New German Player Agency Signing First Artist Corporation plc, a leading pan-European entertainment, financial services and player representation group, has today signed a joint venture agreement in Germany with specialist player agency fair-sport Marketing GmbH. Until today, Germany was the most significant European market not covered by First Artist's network of associate agencies. This agreement will see the company become a major player in the preparations for next year's World Cup, arranging warm-up games for competing countries and offering the potential for the group to derive significant revenues from the biggest prize in world football. The agreement is timely, allowing First Artist to use its FIFA/UEFA match licences in Germany in a constructive manner to assist the qualifying nations for next year's World Cup in Germany. We fully expect that this deal will see the group retain its presence in that market beyond 2006, arranging pre and post season games, training camps and tournaments in some of the best facilities in Europe. fair-sport Marketing has a long and successful track record in the industry and will become the representative for First Artist's players in Germany, such as Jesper Gronkjaer, who First Artist recently moved from Athletico Madrid to F.C. Stuttgart. This arrangement is reciprocal and First Artist will manage the agency work of fair-sport Marketing's UK clients including Aleksander Hleb at Arsenal. First Artist also announces today the appointment of Craig Sharon as its exclusive US soccer representative. Mr Sharon is a successful and well-regarded sports lawyer and agent in the USA and will extend our excellent relationship with US soccer's governing body (MLS), whilst affording us new opportunities in that market. We are pleased to announce that today's agreement comes as the group continues to enjoy buoyant trading across its trading subsidiaries and we remain optimistic on the prospects for the remainder of the current financial year and beyond. Commenting on today's announcement, Jon Smith, Chief Executive of First Artist, said: "With the soccer spotlight firmly on Germany in the run up to the World Cup, we are delighted to extend our network of associate agencies to the region. Both fair-sport Marketing in Germany and CS Sports in the US represent a significant development of our expanding underlying business, which continues to enjoy buoyant market conditions. The integration of ABG Financial Management and The Finishing Touch are proceeding very smoothly. We will continue to seek opportunities to grow and diversify the enlarged group through further synergistic acquisitions."
