         First Artist Corporation plc ("First Artist" or the "Company")

                            Director's Shareholding

First Artist was informed today that Phil Smith, Chief Operating Officer of
First Artist, purchased 10,000 ordinary shares of 0.25p each ("Ordinary Shares")
in the Company yesterday at a price of 42p per share and a further 10,000
Ordinary Shares this morning at a price of 42p per share.


Accordingly, Phil Smith is now interested in 7,480,000 Ordinary Shares,
representing 13.94 per cent. of the issued share capital of the Company
(including 2,797,600 Ordinary Shares held by the Smith Family Trust, a
discretionary trust under which the beneficiaries include Phil Smith and his
family).
