Thanks useful link - last year they updated their website with transfers. For some reason thought the Transfer season was going to be a bumper one - guess there is still time yet. I merely mention it because they generally do every year and it usually creates a bit of interest (more exciting that theatres apparently).

Was hoping the summer would rescue the footie side a bit. Not surprising it has not been sold. Probably go for a song after a quiet one this year.

Don't disagree with anything you say so I guess we just wait for the Stoller influence to play out and hope it continues to be positive. I remember hoping for earning of 10-15p a year or so back. Will they be positive at all this year?

ToBack,

No idea how the football transfer season is currently going, although you would assume not so well seeing that the actual numbers of transfers seems to be dropping. This can be seen from here, but what % relates to FAN is anyone's guess.

Also from the Prelims, we have been told that the footie business would not be great

"However, as previously reported the January 2010 window was very
disappointing and will affect the current year's results."

Also there are the following points to consider
1) No sign of renegotiated facilities
2) No sale of footie business

On the plus side I woud expect the Dewynters business to perform well this year and the same for SpotCo.

Also recent buying by Stoller is a positive although nobody seems to know anything about

Interim Announcement due on 23/8 - I have no idea whether this will look good or bad.

Any idea how transfer season is going for these? As I suspect it could be good but have no facts to back it up.

I'd love to know who the Stollers are. With what's going on in that business at the moment then they're either up to something or completely mad. I rather favour the former. I still remain faithful to the theatre business which is excellent. Events are on the back foot, but then it is a recession, but again it's a good business. Football is a disaster and with this management to boot (no pun intended) bringing the rest of the business down with it.

Same old story sort out football and the Smiths and the rest will fly. Cross fingers, maybe the Stollers will do it for us

tara - that would depend on what it is, if you care to expand. I would be willing (as I do every year) to give money to charity quite willingly. I would even post the receipt here.

Greengiant, if it turns out, that infact you do make money with this stock , based on these directors, ie prior to any change in the directors would you then put by 10% of the gain for the good of others,[Linked to FAN]?

It would be a kind of thankyou.

tara,

I am honest, I do not believe in calling something good, when clearly it isn't.

This board have been hopeless in keeping abreast of its requirements (as can still be seen with its website which is still woefully out of date)

The board have been in the process of selling its sports business for 13 months now and have all along given unrealistic deadlines as to its completion

The board often reported good progress only to disappoint when results are released. (Dewynters in Feb).

Am I confident that this is a good management team - absolutely not.

Do I care as long as I make money? Absolutely not.

Would I invest here if I had my time again? - Absolutely not

Greengaint, you have got large amounts in this stock, yet spent the last months running them into the ground.!!

I have not, you read accounts and moan at the directors like a drain.

I have not.

If you get you investment back, please contact me as i have a good project where 10% of that could be spent doing good[and its linked to FAN]

As you had written this investmrent off , 10% seems fair to me.

Good luck.
