13/10/2021 12:36 | Given AIM rules on dealing for persons with direct management responsibilities, doesn't NR's share purchase on 11th October imply that there can be no release of financial results until 10th November? (30 day rule). Currently, the next earnings release is scheduled for 8th November. | ijamlon
13/10/2021 12:31 | Yes agreed igoe104 ...plus all the military stuff they are doing which is also very high grade. | wanttowin
13/10/2021 11:28 | Looks like a big buy this morning 445k worth... | igoe104
13/10/2021 10:43 | Wanttowin, don't forget cables for data centres and hospitals. 😉 | igoe104
12/10/2021 17:23 | The market has been unkind for a while now, but I'm so comfortable with Volex, It's one of my top holdings and is a great old British company that sits so sweet with me. A positive ambitious management, globally enhancing acquisitions, busy busy busy employing and manufacturing things, a winning decisive captain at the helm, plus a wifey who also throws her hand in the pot. Then there's electric vehicles, scooters, bikes, sockets, cables, wires, plugs, gadgets, tv's, electronics, .... crikey its all around me the stuff they make and its growing all the time I'll be adding on the dips.. 12/10/2021 17:06 | He's very far from a multi-billionaire, and also very careful with money, that's serious cash. Quite a strong signal so close to an earnings announcement I'd say. | ijamlon
12/10/2021 16:06 | going to 500p | abarclay
12/10/2021 15:31 | It is not a small purchase. Even for NR. If you think these guys throw that sort of dosh around as though it were nothing, you are misguided. Your 'neutral' statement would have been broadly the same had he sold £250k?? | shaker44
12/10/2021 14:39 | I don't see anything negative either. It was an absolutely neutral statement. Nat did a little course maintenance with a very small amount of pocket money. I don't think he traded with any great profit motive or was concerned about valuation. He took a quick look at the chart and thought hy... 3 takeovers without any noteworthy attention to the market - a little share price maintenance must have happened. Then he buys shares for 250k GBP for some play money and the market celebrates. Ok but nothing has changed. I think "excellent sign of confidence" is a bit exaggerated for such a small purchase. I phrased my comment very neutrally. I see the purchase for what it is - a non-event. What counts are the numbers and they will come in November. We will see how Volex can handle the pressure on the margins and what the future takeover multiples will be. ~8x EBITDA for the last acquisitions show that the US market offers much higher multiples than acquisitions in Europe or Asia. Margins and profitability ROIC and FCF growth will be the numbers to re-orientate on. Have a good afternoon everyone. | sweetunicorn
12/10/2021 14:01 | I fail to see any negatives in Nat buying £250k worth of stock...good man bring it on. | wanttowin
12/10/2021 11:39 | Sweetunicorn NR can only mop up whatever stock is available in the market. Have you any idea whether it would actually be possible to spend £1m-2m on VLX shares currently? | shanklin
12/10/2021 11:26 | Great show of confidence from Nat. I'm certainly holding onto my holding for the foreseeable future. | igoe104
12/10/2021 11:08 | Or an smart attempt to stop the sell-off? Executive and EBT purchases are normally always reported 2-3 days late. NAT buying is done immediately the next day as another sell-off threatens. And what is a 250kGBP buy for a multi-billionaire who receives ~$3m in dividends for his VLX positions alone? For me, an "excellent sign of confidence" would have been a purchase of 1-2mGBP, which the dividend at NAT on its Volex positions easily gives ;-) I like VLX great business but this purchase seems like a planned sham buy to stop the sell off. The whole thing without valuation. I don't know if it's good or bad. Just my observations. I will definitely keep an eye on the margins of VLX in the next reports. | sweetunicorn
12/10/2021 10:46 | Excellent sign of confidence | johndoe23
12/10/2021 10:26 | Another quarter of a million quid's worth of shares snapped up by Nat Rothschild. | cf456
11/10/2021 22:46 | 2nd largest for me | ayl30
11/10/2021 22:28 | Volex 3rd biggest for me too :-) | simmsc
11/10/2021 22:25 | Volex is the third-biggest holding , at 2.43% , of the respected £ 350 M Marlborough Nano cap fund . | mrnumpty
11/10/2021 12:03 | I'm not sure that all these little add ons are going to drive an immediate re-rating. They add to earnings a little but they create other long-term challenges too. Wait and see what the next earnings update sounds like. Officially it's on 8th November but could come sooner. If they get a big jump in EV and other revenues, and if they've managed to work around the global supply chain issues, then we'll be looking at a very promising situation and likely further share price take-off. The rest is kind of noise imho. | ijamlon
11/10/2021 09:35 | Weird share movement after a good acquisition announcement. | igoe104
08/10/2021 19:43 | Sorry I am late I had a prodamex last night. | rbewes
