Topped up a few more today although I find it a bit worrying the move to AIM. Every time I get involved there I end up with a big headache? Have shortened my stop loss to cover the move to this market. Too much jiggery-pokery goes on there for my liking

'Best first half operating profit performance for 5 years'

Very quiet here. I look forward to seeing some analysis. Not entirely happy about the move to AIM.

Yes, looking bullish for the breakout toward £1. NT bought some time ago, I believe.

Results out next week.

I'm not expecting much of the good vibes (electric vehicles, trade deals, overall streamlining etc) to manifest in hard numbers - yet, but the share price continues to head upwards in anticipation. Just hope it's not getting ahead of itself, but we'll see soon enough.

Two year chart looks very nice, and recent trades have been on the buying side, for a few days now (but someone holding the price at 74). Large investor (Ruffer) also adding, up to 19%. All good for now.

Strange price action today - down 7.5% on a few small trades (shorts?), presumably post iphone launch negativity(?) then back up, with a final trade back up at starting price (not big so not delayed, it seems).

Be interesting to see if anything happens, after it was doing so well.

If you are a seller or have sold why are you still hanging around on this thread???

Nexen are the recent strategic partner (your friendly harnesses debate above). I would guess it is just a defensive stake in their partner (Volex) by Nixen, but could be a fair way to go yet (say 10%, maybe 20%), having acquired just over 3%. They probably are buying as Golden Peaks (another recent RNS) are selling - GP went below 3% recently.

But I have no idea - not complaining though...

South Korea's Nexen Tech's name has appeared on the share register. I wonder if they will make a move on Volex.

wifi can drop out. For the same reason planes still use mechanical cable for landing gear is why cars will use harnesses.

I think you will have to find another reason to satisfy yourself that you did the right thing selling your shares in Volex.

"Electric harnesses for electric vehicles will obviously be a big business in the future."

Surely harnesses will be mainly obsolete and most will be digital wi-fi ?

I'm a bit puzzled by the trades data which suggests this has over the last few days got above the previous high in mid July. There seems to my eye a slight mismatch between the advfn intraday chart and the monthly chart.
Still it's only a small breakout if it has taken place!

I find the RNS very interesting.

Electric harnesses for electric vehicles will obviously be a big business in the future.

Interesting to consider the likely life of an electric vehicle as compared to an internal combustion engine one. Apart from battery life my guess is it could be longer. Composite materials and wood may come into play for weight saving.

Quite excited about that RNS.

The Chairman's statement used the words 'challenge', 'risk' and 'adverse'. If you skim-read it then those words stand out in the context of VLX's recent history. Nat is an honest bloke, by the sound of it and honesty should be rewarded but I think he needs to talk through a PR person.

What has caused the 6% drop today

Statement out today says expectations are inline and that

we note some adverse currency movements affecting our labour costs as well as commodity price inflation.

The growth we are experiencing has presented some operational challenges at our Mexico facility, as we invest in additional staff and raw materials to satisfy our customers' requirements.

Noted the Directors didn't get all their resolutions through around share allocations don't know what that is
