30/7/2007 13:29 | With the benefit of hindsight, it is clear it was a mistake to announce a yet to be done deal. But I think it may have been announced through necessity. We all know the chairman bought a massive amount of shares recentily, if they had not announced this expected deal, and chairman bought mnassivily and later it was announced they had signed this deal? Wouldn't there have been a case for inside trading? and all the roblems that come with it? But it does seem it taking a massive amount of time just to finalise the deal and this is creating uncertainity. I feel they, either way need to inform the market one way or other as to what is going on? Raja | rajauk
30/7/2007 09:31 | sp slithering further now. Where's that airport contract ??? | arthurly
28/7/2007 09:56 | I am biting my nails every weekday !! | par12
26/7/2007 09:29 | Yep. Funnily enough I was just thinking how relatively solid the price had been given the climb from the lows, the poor markets and the fickleness of PIs! VDI made a BIG mistake imo in naming a date by which the contract was expected to be signed. These things take time (copyright The Smiths) and usually longer than expected, especially a huge deal like this. But the core business seems to be doing very nicely, so I'm happy to wait for things to happen as and when. Interestingly VDI have revamped their web site. This is normally a good sign as it's often a harbinger of bigger things to come in my experience. I see there's a show in Las Vegas coming up in September: | rivaldo
26/7/2007 08:39 | "In addition, I am pleased to announce the company is in receipt of a signed a letter of intent and is now in the final stages of contract negotiations with a government airport authority for a 25-year Build-Operate-Transf News nearly a month overdue now and the price is drifting down as a result ! | masurenguy
16/7/2007 09:57 | We have climbed the mountain for the terminal 5 contract lets not fall off before the news is announced !! | par12
13/7/2007 10:13 | Good find as usual Tole. And a tick up on the offer for no apparent reason? Where's that airport contract then... Interesting quote above from the Clipper Group, who were part of "the Arkansas Best Corporation, a multi-billion dollar company", but were last year acquired by Wheels Group: | rivaldo
12/7/2007 07:42 | You are of course right. Suggests a strong move when it happens, as normal volume is so low. | vida
12/7/2007 07:37 | Need positive contract news to trigger the latter ! | masurenguy
12/7/2007 06:58 | For those of a charting bent (which I am not really), we have just seen a golden cross and the bollinger bands are now rather tight indicating a large movement one way or the other. I guess up! | vida
06/7/2007 00:26 | That 150k buy was X trade Agence Cross hopefully getting ready for the big news | ponty2
05/7/2007 15:21 | Nice 150k buy at 23p while we wait. | rivaldo
04/7/2007 22:32 | stegrego, how very true. | rambutan2
04/7/2007 21:23 | When news is expected it generally never comes when its supposed to. When was the last time a share you held delivered some 'expected' news on time? Also, more often than not, I find that the shareprice doesnt react like people 'expect' it to either. Its 'unexpected' news that really moves a shareprice | stegrego
04/7/2007 12:25 | I believe it's late, not cancelled. Am thinking of adding more. Recent contract wins are good. I would be worried if nothing within 2 months. It said "expected" to be signed, not will be signed. A contract like that takes months to negotiate, and a letter of intent to me indicates that it's serious, as it's unlikely that an LOI for a 25 year contract will be one of the worthless types. Time will tell. | vida
04/7/2007 12:12 | Its a long wait, have sold half my holding, they could have told us one way our another | ponty2
04/7/2007 11:53 | "In addition, I am pleased to announce the company is in receipt of a signed a letter of intent and is now in the final stages of contract negotiations with a government airport authority for a 25-year Build-Operate-Transf Still no news - just overdue or could there be a problem ? | masurenguy
02/7/2007 08:47 | hopefully the big one is still to come | ponty2
30/6/2007 00:29 | nice find dibbs...dunno stegrego they have mentioned fairly large contract wins before as rnsnon's This article implies a figure of $4 million.. Reckon it was a timely release to distract us from the big one | dasein
29/6/2007 23:19 | Notice the announcement was a RNSNON - so isnt a huge deal | stegrego
29/6/2007 22:39 | pdf page 40 and 41 worth a glance. Secured station + yard initiatives. $12 million budget 2007-2011, don't know how much VDI will see, but I reckon todays RNS relates to this? Dibbs | dibbs
29/6/2007 14:37 | You're probably right - some 6M shares traded already today including some very large X trades ! | masurenguy |
