Posted at 18/6/2018 21:57 by scothernman Short interest in CYBG has increased in June.....says it all. Fall coming and if CYBG falls VM will get dragged down to 325p levels. Got out 2 weeks ago at 350p level. |
Posted at 18/6/2018 14:12 by rathean What a terrible deal, so much future value in VM but instead the wider group are going to be burdened with a much higher risk loan book, I know I got a mortgage with Clydesdale a few years ago with just 12 months bank statements to prove income. This makes no sense other than a quick buck for RB to rebuild his island. |
Posted at 18/6/2018 12:59 by bigbertie There is an arbitrage opportunity here - sell CYBG and buy VM. When the gap closes reverse the deal. I think that's right. But there doesnt seem to be much interest yet. |
Posted at 18/6/2018 08:25 by its the oxman Not a great end for VM but at least most recent investors can walk away in profit. |
Posted at 24/5/2018 09:21 by rathean I wouldn't be too disappointed at the pace of the response from the bod. I wouldn't be surprised if other party(s) have asked for time to consider their position ahead of a potential bidding war. VM will be bought, it's just a question if time... yes that's a DM reference :) |
Posted at 16/5/2018 08:03 by rathean I'd be concerned if they accept the deal, not a fan of CYBG and their more liberal lending policy. Expecting another player to enter the fray, can't imagine VM is not on other radars imo. |
Posted at 15/5/2018 20:05 by scothernman Virgin money's true worth has come to attention with the current offer. 325p will be the base even if they reject and ask CYBG for more...which they will surely. CYBG needs VM for future earnings boost. Strong capital position" of the group meant that CYBG could absorb this PPI hit without changing its future strategy or aspirations. Analysts expect the bank will draw on capital to fund some of its bid for Virgin Money, with CYBG expected to benefit from a capital windfall due to an expected change to risk models. Hold the stock for a good 15 to 20% appreciation in the short. Don't check on an hourly basis. |
Posted at 08/5/2018 07:58 by arthur_lame_stocks I think the bid undervalues VM. too and personally I don't want CYBG shares. I'll hang on and see what happens. |
Posted at 03/5/2018 13:45 by its the oxman Hope my sale is wrong but for me it has taken a lot longer than I envisaged making some decent money out of vm. Probably run straight up to 400p now. |
Posted at 03/5/2018 12:56 by ojh2kent dividend growing nicely too but conservatively, and not stupidly, so nice outlook for large investors |
