Well Peter Fellner has sold Acambis, so he'll have more time to sort out the underperformance over here now!!

Some thing in the wind here, could be a good investment even in this climate,on its knees and many things in the pipe line , could surprize the whole market, depends how tight the company is, any ideas out there? What are the possibilities of a bid? very low input into this BB, allmost secretive..

Performing well lately (4.85p).

But no real surprise....

Expected newsflow H2 08:

V1512: announce partner and start phase III
V10153: complete phase IIa study
V3381: announce partner/start phase IIb
V24343: start dose-ranging study

Cash enough for 2 years.

and u know why, cos' many brokers like pharma and healthcare stocks at mo going forward in the current climate and as we all know the spending on drugs and associated things don't chnage in this type of climate................even though they r small they could pack the largest punch!
and at these prices they r peanuts to a predator..........silly price.

just an opinion.

I like VER especially at the moment because a lot of news is to be expected in H2-2008. Every item could trigger a share price explosion (IMO) LOL.

BOL pinkpanther!

Just bought 30.000 PTI @av. 28.43.

Quite a few biotechs have been hammered down. So I've been buying quite a lot of them lately (VER, AGY, RNVO and just a few minutes ago PTI).

All these are so incredibly low priced.... all IMHO offcourse.

well after watching these for some time and noting the broker price target of piper jaffray who i respect as being especially good with recommendations and their price target set in Feb '07 of 31p due to a possible future bid, feel these r so low now that they appear a good play as investment.....potential upside could be extremely good
thus, i have started to build a position today with a purchase of 100,000 @4p

good luck and just an opinion.

in additon, goldman sachs price target is not to bad either and history does have a habit of repeating itself.............

It's time to make the whole process illegal!!!

Gambling on a share price going up or down is fine but selling something you don't own should be stopped. I have nothing against those that do it but on a moral ground I refuse to, probably why I am skint and shorters are mortgage free!! ;)

This 'shorting' activity has been present - and continues- in Protherics and Skyepharma as well.
Time the FSA required a higher deposit on traders who borrow stock to trade!

yep share price is being walked down imo and the volume has been very low but not sure what large holders are left in VER??

Had a punt a while back and will keep holding for now as I expect to get my money back (5p ave)at the very least this year!!

I've been following VER for a couples of months now. I've bought shares at 5.5-6p because I thought VER was undervalued. Since then I've experienced that the share price has dilleberetly been walked down. I've tried many times to let this stock close at a higher share price but always without effect. Almost always the stock was traded down in the last minutes. I can not comprehend that kind of behaviour. Someone who really wanted to sell would be far better off by letting VER close higher and seel the other day and yet the seller chooses to sell at the low of the day. This would make no sense unless a take over bid is being prepared here. All IMO offcourse.

The healthcare sector is now being seen as a "safer haven" against a backdrop of deteriorating economic growth and disillusionment with emerging markets, says Merrill Lynch, citing its July European Fund Managers survey. One-third of managers polled have a net overweight in healthcare and pharmaceuticals, up from zero in June. Healthcare stocks are a "traditional safe harbor from wider economic trends," the bank says. "Healthcare companies might have their own industry risks, but they do offer immunity from the three horrors that are bugging investors: a rising oil price, the slowing economic cycle and the credit crisis," says Karen Olney, Head of European Equity Strategy at Merrill. So these shares are now at the same value as they were just before the demise of British Biotech in 2003... but hold on they are not the same value, because that was pre-consolidation, so now they are worth a lot lot less 3.75. Well Felner I'm going to right you off for the time being, stick you in a cupboard and forget about you for the next 10yrs perhaps by then you may have turned from a lemon into a little gold nugget, toodle pip .

don't know about it going up and down - wish it did more - since it's spike in february the share price has been in a fairly tight channel - seems to be a major resistance area around 6.75 to 7 which hopefully it can push through on its next attempt - unfortunately all the short term news is in so until the expected data and partnerships get announced in H2 i can't see it breaking out of this channel ( unless some rumours start doing the rounds ) - i hope that 5.25 is the floor as i don't want my paper losses to increase much more - fellner keeps going on about regaining shareholder value - would be interesting to know what he actually considers as a fair share price for this company - i envisage the share price to be double or treble by year end on positive news but is this fair value for the long term holders ? i doubt it - on the positive side there's no debt and a couple of years working capital which should also support the share price

below is the chart which i drew up last weekend for my own notes - as always NAI / DYOR
