23/8/2009 21:27 | If/once 50% is reached, and offer is unconditional, can CNA then buy shares above the offer price at will?? From the Independent article above, "Centrica have extended the offer period until 14th September". If CNA buy shares tomorrow at 845p (not having mine!), what happens beyond the 50% acceptance level?? | scatty
23/8/2009 16:55 | CNA cannot pay more than 845p and shares that have been assented cannot be sold until that assent is withdrawn | phillis
23/8/2009 16:37 | If centrica, as cited in the times article, are going to try and buy shares in the open market tomorrow that should make them rise in value? Hang onto your shares and they will rise above the offer price. The if you were to sell anyway you will make more and centrica may end up buying shares that had been pledged and find they still do not get the 50%. I think there is more to play here yet. 22/8/2009 20:09 | Salpara I think we will all have to wait a little longer before acknowledging that CNA have played a canny game. Personally I think they have handled it badly. | hysteron
22/8/2009 18:50 | Bounty - Many thanks Fatfin | fatfin
22/8/2009 18:37 | Not clear why everybody is still talking this one out, the city has spoken and for some time. Look at how the VPC share price has performed over the last month....in exactly the same way as if there was an agreed takeover. The hedgies apparently hold over 10% of VPC and there is absolutely no chance that they are going to hold onto the stock in the hope that they might get more 6 months down the line. Hats off to CNA for playing a canny game. | salpara111
22/8/2009 16:37 | Fatfin - IEC seem to have gone also so have shuffled things around there to fit HAWK in in alphabetical order | bountyhunter |
