BP Licence still hasn't been approved by shareholders...and the MOM have another 30d working stat period after that before they can commence operations....so the earliest the licence will be received now is mid Feb, at best

my view is that they'll need to secure the $10m loan before the shareholders approve the licence, so I reckon we could be looking more towards the end of Q1 at the earliest.

Incorrect the loss is now accounted for on the VAST PLC balance sheet as a liability.

It wasn't a cash cost, but the loss was crystallized because half the supporting assets were sold for merely $4m rather than £16m ($4m + $12m) which was the (presumably) historic cost of the assets sold. This accounting loss had to be recognized as a loss in the P&L, but the loan has been transferred to VAST PLC and is now on the balance sheet. So it's NOT just an accounting device.

Remember the assets were sold, not the shares of the subsidiary operating company. VAST is left holding the baby (ie the subsidiary operating company loan)

In addition there is a net current liability of $4m to repay.

The recent placing and cash generated from PPGM (if cash can be extracted out of Zim) might contribute to reducing this.

They desperately need the $10m off take loan, otherwise VAST is toast.

The colder H2 will produce less minerals than the warmer H1.

Top trolling guys

The 'loss' was an accountancy entry, as a result of the deconsolidation.

But then you knew that

The only reason the price tanked was because those gambling on T10s and T20s for an announcement had to close out

No hint of the operating subsidiary company loan (only assets highlighted) being transferred to VAST:

THEN

"the Company was to
receive gross proceeds of US$8 million principally to advance the
Company's core activities in Romania. This comprised a US$4 million
payment for the sale of a 49.99 per cent interest in the Company's
principal Zimbabwean assets (the 'Disposal') and a US$4 million long
term loan, repayable in four years (the 'Loan')."

And NOW... note 10 from today's interims:

10 Financing arrangement

On 29 May 2017 the Company completed a financing arrangement with SSCG
Africa Holdings Ltd originally announced on 30 January 2017. Under this
arrangement the Company received gross proceeds of US$8 million,
principally to advance the Company's core activities in Romania. This
comprised a US$4 million loan, repayable on 30 January 2021 and a US$4
million payment in respect of a 49.99% interest in the Company's
principal Zimbabwean assets, consisting its 50% shareholding in
Dallaglio Investments (Private) Limited, the holding company for the
Pickstone Peerless Gold Mine, and the assignment of 49.9% of the
intercompany loan owing by Canape Investments (Private) Limited to Vast
Resources Plc.

The assignment of the intercompany loan, with a book value of $14.838
million, for consideration of $2.3 million (included in the $4.0 million
referred to above), gave rise to the recognition of a loss on disposal
of $12.538 million as reported in the Statement of Comprehensive Income
