05/9/2012 20:01 | We still have along way to go to achieve the real value of this share, hopefully the increase today will highlight the opportunity and value this share currently presents. There is clearly a strategy that the MM's followed today and time will tell how much stock they have to be able to continue that strategy. My guess is the share has either been tipped or there is an announcement in the morning. But overall I hope the true value will be marketed by the company and supported media..... | thinking
05/9/2012 19:21 | Martin i believe they are seeing some that participated in previous fundraises and maybe try and get some new investors interested...fingers crossed a good story to tell...can see no need for any fundraise nearterm.I am interested to find out if some other posters positive calculations on longevity of mexican op's hold water so have tabled a question or two. Copper update would be nice too. | kooba
05/9/2012 18:52 | Well the MMs walked it down previously for no reason, so they had the stock to help walk it back up again. We never got an RNS to say who was causing the original overhang. I doubt we will get one now. At least for now we don't have any smug gits trying to pretend there is a cash problem. Hopefully they have now closed their short and have gone elsewhere with their 30 pieces of silver. | martin c-j
05/9/2012 17:51 | The dealers kept a tight reign on the volume first thing with 30k the max trade, I had trouble fulfilling my trades and paid more in the end and max order was 200k after the tick up so split to get the volume. Interesting that no volme sells went through so mm had the stock just were not letting it go forcing the price up. Its either the interims, the share has been tipped or news on the prospect sites.........Good luck we have been patient here. | thinking
05/9/2012 17:29 | kooba - who are the presentations to? Are they to institutions? This was quite a powerful move up today. Up about 20% on some decent volume. Chartwise it's forming a nice upward channel with a second bounce off the lower support confirmed today. A break above 1.25p and this confirms the uptrend. I had a buy order in at 0.8p and didn't get a sniff. | martin c-j
05/9/2012 16:35 | Must be interim results tomorrow or monday as they have presentations planned from early next week i understand. Strange move ahead of news and looks rather sniffy...lets hope this interest lasts after the rns is out! | kooba

05/9/2012 12:34 | Vane Minerals (VML) said total revenue in during the second quarter of 2012 came in at $2.77 million up from $2.61 million in Q1, after its Mexican mines produced 1,028oz Au and 22,147oz Ag, slightly down from 1,180oz Au and 26,164 oz Ag in Q112. The build-up of a stockpile in preparation for the wet season should ensure adverse transport conditions, which can delay the transport of ore from the La Colorada Mine, do not delay production from the SDA mill. Although this has caused mining costs to rise this quarter, they are expected to return to previous levels once stock piling is completed in the short term. It is also worth bearing in mind that while these figures include production from the Diablito Mine, they do not include the revenue, as the concentrate was not shipped before the quarter's cut-off date. Third-quarter revenue is expected to be lower than the current quarter as there will be an increase in material processed from the lower grade Diablito Mine. However, unlike the profits from the JV at the La Colorada Mine that are split on a 60:40 basis, 100% of the profits from Diablito are attributable to Vane. Broker Westhouse Securities continues to believe the firm's producing assets are worth at least £4.49 million and has placed a £8.53 million valuation on Wate alone. The makes the shares look particularly cheap considering VANE's market cap of £3.76 million, and even more so when noting that this valuation does not incorporate the potential of the firm's remaining uranium prospects and its copper exploration portfolio. At 0.85p the shares remain a speculative buy. | christianf12
