14/3/2008 10:16 | The sell side of the order book dried up briefly then. share price moved to 73.25-74p. 30K buy order on at 73p, perhaps it's yesterdays seller realising they were unable to drop the share price below 70p and trying to buy back in... | davius
14/3/2008 09:23 | looks like the guy has decided to sell in one lot rather than 30 every 10 seconds, he/she/must be off to Cheltenham. | astol
13/3/2008 13:24 | well i hope he has negotiated a frequent trader rate-LOL | astol
13/3/2008 12:15 | We saw this 'one trade per minute' way back in November as well. I believe back then, the trades were in volume of 200s. | soundfsilence
13/3/2008 12:10 | Yup: A trade a minute. Bloody criminal !! | 02bursar
13/3/2008 12:08 | Same happened with blinkx...This will continue all day..trade every minute and drive the share price down.. | goodtiming
13/3/2008 12:00 | They are all auto trades, it has to be someone with Direct Access. SP just jumped a tad, 71.75-72p now but the 30 odd share sells continue. The bot hasn't stopped just because the price has risen... | davius
13/3/2008 11:58 | My guess is a shorter at work.£10 a transaction is small money if you have thousands riding on every point.Likewise small buys if you are going long | gluefactory
13/3/2008 11:56 | Well it won't be a standard trader, they'd be paying £10 odd per transaction. It will be someone with Direct Access running a bot to sell every minute. I've seen this action before on Vanco. On the plus side, for anyone interested in buying in they can get the shares cheaper thanks to this seller. It could also be someone driving the price down with a view to buy in I suppose, that seems less likely, but possible. | davius
13/3/2008 11:51 | The guy probably left his mobile on his pc keyboard and will have a shock when he gets home-LOL | astol
13/3/2008 11:46 | "Davius - 13 Mar'08 - 837: This 'bot' is selling 31-34 shares every minute, give or take a couple of seconds, and has sold around 2300 shares so far today. But in splitting the trades up this way they've brought the price down, despite their being 53K of buys to 32K of sells. Talk about market manipulation." I doubt that the Buy - Sell ratio is 53 to 32. Transaction timing can result in Buys and Sells being misinterpreted. Everyone uses a computer programme to analyse transactions and it allocates trades according to whether they are above or below the mid-price at the time that they are reported which often leads to misallocation. It is extremely unlikely that the share price would have fallen 9% today if there were more Buys than Sells. Also virtually all of the transactions are automatic SETSmm trades so there is no MM 'manipulation' of the price or spread on this stock. | masurenguy

13/3/2008 11:27 | Got out last week at 85p with 11000 shares made a bit of profit as just took out a short term trading position-pleased not on these now but watching with intrigue. | astol
13/3/2008 11:24 | Jeez I'm glad I sold a chunk. Even the 4K shares I have left are hurting though, down over a grand now. No way will I be averaging down until I see a bounce here, I've done that once too often to get roped in again. Suspiscious small sells, designed to bring the price down in my view, keep selling into the MMs until they drop, again and again. Shorters at work, I have little doubt. | davius
13/3/2008 11:20 | looks like someone is playing dirty | windjammer
13/3/2008 11:07 | strange loads of trades at 31/32/34p sells. As such low overall volume traded so far this will push the share price down further. | astol
13/3/2008 11:04 | hey you 2 calm down 52 week low 75p now breached not looking good. 65p possible today. | astol
13/3/2008 10:53 | I could say the same about your responses to mine. If there was no inuendo intended then that's fine but others reading your info without knowing the facts could form a different view to the one you intended. | 02bursar
13/3/2008 09:53 | "Incidentally Hargreaves timing was excellent when he sold 160,000 shares at 430p last summer after his reassignment was announced." No mention of the holding he retained. What was it at April 07 afer vestings: 756,000 Ted Rafetto sold 40k on the same day as Hargreaves and bought 50k on 1 Oct. Now isn't there a tax liability on gains made after option take up? So is it not too unreasonable to speculate that those guys needed cash to pay a tax bill? | 02bursar
13/3/2008 09:24 | Nothing to do with 'discrepancies' and previous FD Hargreaves in still with the company running its Enterprize Sales Division. Accounting issues purely relate to historical policies toward revenue recognition and expense amortisation and are under review by the new FD Johnston and the new accountants PWC. Won't affect their cash position but will affect the P & L going forward. Incidentally Hargreaves timing was excellent when he sold 160,000 shares at 430p last summer after his reassignment was announced. | masurenguy |
