remember the terms of the drill about to spud at cladhan. they get a full carry for this drill so it's a free shot courtesy of sterling from memory.
as usual there is slippage on the timescales..

doesn't seem like VPP is benefitting from the situation at IAE. So much for our q1 drills, I thought this was supposed to be their busiest ever drill year? Its March and we haven't broken a sweat yet.

Ithaca was 140p AND commonly accepted as being undervalued before the first bid talks in January. Now they're looking at 220p + as a bid target.
As Scab would say relax.

well, its all quiet on the western front here. Whats the next news we are expecting? Selling would be the best option as we don't seem to be able to realise value from normal operations at present.

Well if there are at least 3 companies sniffing around Ithaca you can bet the slide rule is being run over VPP.

This time next year I reckon it will have been sold particularly if there are some titbits for marginal fields in the Budget..

See blackrock now sold a few.... surprised their cashing in already really. Wonder how the cash pot is looking with current oil prices. Certainly help with causeway and exploration costs this year without dipping in so deep to the debt facility. GLA

me neither, would appreciate any input. I like the fact that VPP is holding its own in the market. Oil rising, drilling coming, and maybe its on some people's takeover list?

DJ MARKET TALK: Oil Majors Seen Buying Cheap Producers -Westhouse

1049 GMT [Dow Jones] On the back of recent oil company acquisition news, Westhouse Securities expects more cash-rich oil majors to take advantage of current low valuations to buy, as "it is clearly cheaper to buy reserves through the stock market than to explore." It notes the recent Royal Dutch Shell (RDSA.LN) bid for Cove Energy (COV.LN) and a possible offer from Dragon Oil (DRS.DB) for BowLeven (BLVN.LN). Westhouse notes that in the current industry environment, large companies will primarily be looking for bid targets trading at a substantial discount to NPV. The brokerage sees companies such as Coastal Energy Co. (CEO.LN) Soco International (SIA.LN) as possible targets for their operations in Southeast Asia; Antrim Energy Inc. (AEN.T), Ithaca Energy Inc. (IAE.T) and Nautical Petroleum (NPE.LN) as possible targets for operations in the U.K. North Sea; Petroceltic International (EG5.DB) and Gulf Keystone Petroleum (GKP.LN) as possible targets for operations in Africa and the Middle East; Global Energy Development (GED.LN) as a target for its LatAm operations; Indus Gas (INDI.LN) as a possible target for its India operations and Northern Petroleum (NOP.LN) as a target for its European operations. Westhouse has buy recommendations on Ithaca Energy, Nautical Petroleum and Northern Petroleum. No recommendations on the others.
