You’re forgetting the unfunded public sector debt. You can add a couple of trillion for that. |
Correction to my post Govt debt nearer 3 Trillion not 2.5 Trillion. About Shed very strong tenants mainly ecommerce fulfillment logistics. Seems good value at 8% yield, low vacancies. Board unfortunately completed buyback too early now would have been better. Suspect short selling depressing share price. Looking to add soon. |
Public sector workers is an oxymoron
Thousands of civil servants to strike ‘indefinitely’ over back-to-office demand
..The PCS union – which represents almost 200,000 civil servants across Whitehall – has argued that asking workers to come into the office is unreasonable.
……There has been a renewed push for a four-day week, with union members at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs arguing that a shorter week “will improve the support we provide to our farmers” and save taxpayers £21.4m a year... |
1970s revisited All ended up at the the IMF then |
Fair point - socialists doing economics.
("A socialist who understands economics is no longer a socialist").
Going a bit OT but inflation is clearly going above target, and since Labour instantly folded, largely without condition, on previous wage demands, why shouldn't all public sector workers demand the same inflationary increases next time? |
Rachel Reeves doing her best to depress property shares, 10 gilt yields now 5.3%. SHED seems cheap but with an ex admin worker in charge of our 2.5 Trillion debt pile, anything is possible. Will hold off adding until trend is clear. |
#988/#997, there's my sub-£1, and.... I've not bought.
In this market, fear it's going lower first. Also loaded up averaging elsewhere.
Opportunity Cost.
Hey IC, how'd that double tip last issue go?
Hey SHED, how was the buy back? £7m spent at over £1.08/share.
Good luck holders. SHED surely strong value at under a quid, it's effectively zero capital return since listing, yet they've made huge progress in that time. |
Mister MD, indeed there appears to be value all over the place, but this is the UK, are you buying a bargain ticket on the Titanic?
The current DEI government seems to think that taking on yet more ballast, whilst cutting the crews wages, is a good business move!
SHED imo is a well run good business model, it's the UK that's not a well run business model. The 'priesthood' has taken over, and history tells us that things collapse when priesthoods get all the power. |
Started to build a position here - seems undervalued with a decent dividend yield and a potential takeover target ? Then again there are so many 'bargain' stocks around on this unloved UK market right now ... |
BBOX may be interesting, however where are the H2 disposals.. |
As High St retailers get squeezed and increasingly throw in the towel, no doubt helped by a sharp rise in business rates as the covid subsidy expires, then with a deserted High St, one might expect more shopping to go on-line?
If so, then the demand for edge of town distribution sites, could well increase.
Reeves attack on the poorest of the working poor, imo will hit the High St hard. The imposition of NI on wages above £5000 will see many £9,100 pa part-time jobs, slashed to £5k. The 50% rise in bus fares will see another £500 pa taken from the poorest. It's the poor who are always in need of things, taking half their income away is going to hit shops hard. If the High St becomes a desert, SHED would seem likely to benefit?
We seem to have a ringside seat to the skill of a DEI government! |
Bought modest slabs of SUPR and SHED yesterday. Dabbled with CREI but decided against. Spent my special divvy from API windup to balance my portfolio again. |
Had an initial nibble this morning, currently hold SUPR and THRL. REITs looking excellent value, any other suggestions much appreciated |
That's a great write up in the Investors Chronicle. Shed are a real bargain at 103p. |
Shed is an investment idea of the week in the IC. Nothing in the write up that we do not already know here but it reaffirms my buy case at these levels. |
Yes and has to be a bid target with reports of Blackstone spending £1bn last year buying up urban warehouses. Hopefully the shorters get burnt on this one. |
I flagged this up a few months back, from memory.
Macro UK call at a guess. |
Shed being shorted by a American hedge fund, strange move myself, as these are massively undervalued.. |
Doubled up today Reasonable holding now |
I've bought a small amount for the better half.
Just when you think sentiment towards the sector will not get better, it suddenly gets worse ;. |
Not owned this since May 2022, but started to add back today.
It looks way too cheap. |
Not one of my favourite tracks tbf !.
Johnny Marr mentions he got sick of playing it very quickly and agree with him.
Where is this Gilts move going..?. Very ugly December. |
'Heaven Knows Im Miserable Now'?? |
Well I have The Smiths playing on loud, it's been one if those weeks, eh. |
I am on the hunt for cheap undervalued companies. Spoilt for choice, been buying since yesterday. At some stage even Reeves will realise that a conducive macro economic environment is one that is stable and predictable, and supports economic growth. - Economics 101 |
