Tunisia is ready to go, no governmental wait there, only wait has likely been wether to take money on table. Steve evidently decided to wait a while. Maybe the fast tracking new guy will fast track it and, er, take the money.

Tonight’s tea leaves talk of Tunisia happening fast. But note well, the T leaves are decaf so not quite as reliable as the full fat caffeine ones.

The Mrs won’t allow me the full fat ones coz she says I look full n fat already.

Why would he not? They own the company after all and sentiment is key

Hear hear! As much as I'm sorry to see Staley go I'm looking forward to what the new guy has to offer, hopefully things do start picking up pace, only time will let, in the meantime I'm happy to accumulate and wait.

With the exception of the other assets he talked of in the Rns may be Sull?

If the new man gets things moving I am all for that. If that is.

What I can't understand is how things are going to move quicker if everything that we've been led to believe is all dictated and controlled by the governments Upl have been dealing with.

I think that's what the gist of it is, Staley was a snail and the Malaysians want a turbo tortoise.

I am sure the new man in the hot seat has more important things to do than talk to some PI's in the UK???

Thanks Sull excellent posts, spot on.

Not sure why things should move much quicker now unless they are suggesting Dr.S was the problem.

Regardless it would be unwise to sell way down here so best to hold or top up and see what the next 6 months will bring.

Make of that what you will but strange that no one knew about this conference call apart from the elite few, makes you wonder doesn't it !!!

For those not on Twitter this was posted by shareholder: #UPL just got off a conference call with the new man in the hot seat. This guy is top drawer and lots happening in the very near future I'm sure. I'm a buyer at 1.6p all day long and have added a good chunk to my shareholding. Things will certainly move much quicker now.

Don't expect an answer Michael, he's one of the Twitter group who from what I remember is under water quite a bit so he's going to pump this to high heaven like he did last year.

Did SS move us to Jersey to protect his own shares or has he been off loading. Not sure what to make of it all. As always I don't think it will turn out to be positive for small shareholders, now that SS has gone. My plan is to get out after the dust has settled and if the price gets anywhere near 2p again. If not may as well ait tight.

It's ok yogaboy there is some muppet that that follows myself and another poster on the Aau bb and votes everything down. Sad they have nothing more constructive to do.

Well it has certainly spooked a few in to selling.
I must admit I thought Jersey was a good move and only saw positives in it but now you mention it I suppose it was strange.

Let's hope all is good behind the scenes and they are working in everyone's benefit.

The move from BVI to Jersey was driven by Dr SS because there was a potential threat for a large shareholder or group of shareholders taking the company private. As no new shares were being issued the only people this could apply to is large existing shareholders.

Please don't send your answers on a postcard.

There could also be differences of approach on Saouaf farm out....

I can't decide whether this is really quite troubling or just the lifeline we were looking for.

Dr Staley was UPL's USP, and he will be sorely missed by long term holders like myself. On the other hand, we need to see a return on investment, and this share has been stagnating for a year. The share price is back to my buy-in price and I've forgotten how long ago that was.

The Tunisian asset is massive, apparently major companies are falling over one another to farm in/out, but no deal has been struck.

The Sarawak strategy was screwed by the election result, and has had to start over from scratch. It might still be a long time coming to fruition.

Wick was a binary bet, which lost.

All in all, it's not going as expected.

The recent structural changes (Jersey, NED appointments) have spoken more of boardroom battles subsequent to the Tune investment than of focus on producing results for shareholders such as myself.

So, will the changes following Dr Staley's departure accelerate the growth of the business and the shareholder return? If they are driven by an impatient major shareholder then probably yes, but will that acceleration be to the benefit of all shareholders? Somehow I don't think we will have to wait very long to find out.
