Upland Resources Limited (LSE: UPL) is pleased to announce that, through its collaborative discussions with the Petroleum Authority of Brunei Darussalam, the Company has recently been advised that gas was discovered in two previously unknown reservoirs in the neighbouring block in Brunei, which is located close to, and has a similar geological context to prospective areas in Block SK334.

ZAKS COMMENTS Upland Resources (UPL) made the grade, up another third, even though there has not been any fresh news this month. The last we heard on July 28 was that progress was being made with regard to an onshore rig to develop block SK334 in Sarawak, Malaysia. Followers of the company are clearly still licking their lips regarding indications that its block could be on a par with the neighbouring Seria field, a billion barrel affair.

Yep, confirmation that seismic was completed.

Although rig contracting discussions have been publicly mentioned, they are only a short way into a conceptual FDP, and the wording of the 2023 activities implies that it remains at this stage a rank exploration acreage, albeit with positive correlations to structures in Brunei. Any drilling won't be for months yet

Good to see ongoing discussions with the regulator, to align them on licence commitments

First, I don't think there is a Block SK 664. If you mean the one on which UPL is pursuing technical studies, it's SK 334.

Second, as hoper1 points out, Shell won Offshore blocks in a licence round that started in 2021, and is seeking to advance their prospectivity. SK334 is on land

Third, the shallow water licences referenced are 500km west of SK334.

Same region, in the way that Newcastle and Exeter are both in England

I think the relevant word is 'offshore'. Our interest is onshore
