It's all speculative. Will saouaf be bigger than Sarawak?

Nobody knows yet - not even the board or the folks on the ground.

Both are believed to be game changing.

Been in these since Summer 2016 at 1.3p. I have worked in Malaysia and know the potential of Sarawak so that was my initial reason for investing. Set a tp of 5p but never got there and still hold. During this period, I have sold and bought back and my average is a bit lower now. Did not believe the short term strategy of Wressle/Wick would pay off and I was right. Sarawak will be big but Tunisia looks like being the nice surprise

People keep saying next few months. Is this your first days at Upl? 🤔

Current market cap is peanuts when you look at what could come together over the next few months. Tunisia now looks like it could be a multi TCF play which would be a company make on its own.

I don't think the price will be 'ramped' up because of a few slides just as people did not buy on the Wick slides. It is a risk/reward thing and people thought it was worth buying at the time just like some will think the risk/reward ratio is low/high enough regarding the Tunisia asset. Even if the gas field is of a decent size then 0.7p is a steal!AIMHO & DYOR

Yes thanks nlmbidc I know.

Whether they allow it to be asked or answer it is another question. I suppose it all depends who is fielding the questions.

soulsauce,

You can e-mail that question or join the call on Friday and ask then.

Why has so little been done on Saouaf in the time we have had it?

I have no doubt more funding will be required but that is dependent on the size of the resource. If the resource is there then further placings will be much easier to do and more acceptable. As for 20 bagger, Tunisia will have to be a resource quantity of exceptional quality for it to happen by Xmas I reckon but who knows.Questions to ask on Friday would be around timeline of the work in Tunisia, has it started? If not, when? When are first results expected and when is this phase expected to be completed? Are they looking at a farm-out model and those who were interested in the Staley era, are they still interested? What about the new deals?

I think most expected Sarawak to be the jewel in the crown and especially after the recent resolution of the issue between Petronas and Sarawak gov. but reading between the lines (possibly confirmed on Friday) the company seem to be quite excited about Tunisia and stating this as a priority in the last RNS is a good signal. Hence, in the short term (next 3 months), I expect more news flow from the Tunisia asset which will add value to the share price. In terms of the price many explorers have farm-out/farm-in agreements which realizes the value of the asset in the share price before oil or gas is produced. If the amount of gas is anywhere near the Hassl R'Mel field and the work over the coming weeks hints are that then anything is possible.

Nailed it yogaboy. If only I had an average of 1.6p.

Too much omphaloskepsis and not enough action. There is no short term here, they don't know the meaning of the word.

The more I look at UPL, the more it begins to look like a bunch of guys spread across the globe with no overall strategy, no resources and no particular USP.Now the shares are going to be ramped on the basis of a few slides, with no indication of a credible strategic plan for realising the value of the Saouaf asset.Seriously depressed, even with my average of 1.6p.Thanks goodness we can still go and sink a few pints with our mates, eh? Oh, wait...

Whatever the short term might be, Spangle, it's two years shorter than it was when they announced the licence two years ago.

Hi tyler - I don't want to be overly pessimistic, but can I question a couple of things in your post.

First, in the "short term". How short do you see short-term, and how do you see this happening? Are you suggesting it can 20 bag in the short-term?

Second, does it take into account dilution from the necessary funding that needs to happen, i.e. is it the market cap or the share price that went up 20x?

TIA

From Twitter:"The Isarene permit in Algeria, a prolific gas discovery for Petroceltic and the Tendrara licence for FastNet Energy, then subsequently Sound Energy..."All the companies mentioned x20 bagged! That would make Upland worth around £100m, not an unreasonable initial target if further work progresses quickly as it should since it is a priority for the company now.Sarawak and Brunei news could also add valueI think Tunisia is going to be the company gamechanger in the short term and not Sarawak as all were expecting

Sorry it was the late May RNS extract follows:
Upland and Brooke have carried out data room studies and evaluations to identify prospective hydrocarbon plays of scale in Sarawak and believing that they hold commercial resource potential have conveyed their selection to Petros as well as proposing details for a work programme. In line with Petros' policy to employ local expertise as much as possible and where practicable, Upland have collaborated with local Sarawakian consulting expertise to design the proposed work programme.

Hi nlmbidc - I'll have to take your word for it.

I can't actually see those words in the July RNS, just that it has "highly attractive transformational licence opportunities under review" or "to close new identified and screened opportunities in both South East Asia and North Africa"

Spangle93,

The company RNS in July stated that they had applied for something of scale in Sarawak.

All the slide is adding is:

Exploration onshore adjacent to a prolific and mature offshore area.

We’ve seen some very encouraging positive moves recently. Time to rally behind it. Draw a line on the past. We might even now be holding more golden tickets with Tunisa developments.

Well, maybe someone can help me out.

Slide 6 "SARAWAK: Exploration onshore adjacent to a prolific and mature offshore area"

Has this ever been RNS'd.
