Update -


So Brulines are not making active progress.
The financing arrangement with BoS, although modest, looks helpful in easing cash constraints.

Next news will probably be a trading statement end Nov or early Dec unless Brulines make a move.

Jeffian - You may well be right.

However it's a bluff really.
First, the changing market background must be taken into account so 6 months is too long a period for relevance to the present and secondly,
anything before 12th Aug does not take into account the latest results.

Brulines have added another ~3.65M shares taking them to 11.52% at 4p.


I think we can now consider that the downside on UNG is virtually locked at 4p unless and until Brulines withdraw.

They must have read this bit -

"The Directors of Brulines note that the closing share price of Universe on 23 September 2009 was 4.625p, a 63.3 per cent. premium to the average share price over the last six months." -

which I take to mean, in plain English, "so don't get your hopes up we're going to pay much more"! As a BRU shareholder, I certainly don't want them to overpay!

Surely they must have known that Brulines was the potential buyer ?

90,022 sale at 4.25p early this morning !

Was that the premium buy at 5.5p on the Friday when the offer
closed at 4.5p, talk about giving the mm's a easy profit !

I would not be selling so close to what a predator is obviously
a buyer at, mm's must be loving that along with other sales !

Who has significant shareholdings now ? They will decide our fate. If the big holders are happy with 7p or wherever the deal is pitched then the rest are likely to hand over the company.

I never noticed that but they have absolute zero chance of getting
the company for 4p, they have done well to get their % so far for
that but i doubt any other institutions will sell for less than 5p
now, sellers are always desperate and cannot pick or choose the
price they want so to get his size out for 4p is probably a result
considering the bid has been way below that, actually the last time
the bid was 4p or higher was at the beginning of 2008 so i would
imagine both the seller and buyer are happy with the price and it
will have no bearing on any future possible bid or future trading prospects
of Ung.

yes about 4p given today's announcement. This company is for sale and look at the record on its own. Even its stock market listing eats into its profit in a damning way. If Mackie sold for 4p, having bought a lot of his shares in the 20s and 30s what does that say to the market? They'll dump them if this does not go through and the price will be 1.25p - a gamble for them but a diaster for UNG is they don't get sold.

mm's dont want any stock now so it's dropping on any sales.

I reckon there will be a bid, most bid talks seem to fail or are
just for show to boost up the price but this buyer has already
bought a good % of the company and i reckon they will offer a
fair price to get their hands on UNG.

I reckon Mackie would not have sold to anyone, that this is therefore a done deal. Mind you, 8m shares for £400k (at 5p) - what an investment. He was buying in the Card Clear days. NOt feeling sorry for any Chairman though - I'd work for hlaf the wages

Makes me laugh, got told that CR boasted he sold yesterday afternoon

Universe Group plc ("Universe" or the "Company"), the AIM (UNG.L) listed retail
and loyalty systems group, has today been notified that on 15 September 2009,
Brulines Group plc acquired 1,472,955 ordinary shares of 5p each in the capital
of Universe ("Shares").


Following this purchase, Brulines Group plc is now interested in a total of
9,560,618 Shares, representing 8.33 per cent. of the Company's issued share
capital.

Looks like a shake coming although they have took a lot of sales
there, that 125k spooked a few, cannot see it going too far down
though, might get 4.75p again or 4.5p if i'm lucky but fancy another
25/50k if the price is right.
