DVW (Dee Valley Water) on UU's border and joint venture partner subject to bid attention. DVW would also make a good fit for UU. In fact I wonder why UU havent put a bid in.

Perhaps a bid for DVW is on its way and would explain the price weakness with UU.

Further drop today , looks illogical to me and happy to collect some more at 857. This is as safe as any long term stock . I won't be worrying if it drops further.

Not company specific - all the utilities have been bashed today - water, energy, telecoms.

Fine, been a good trade to buy in low 900's and selling around 1000p for some time;

Phil, I'm not saying UU. is the best money can buy, I was just saying that a 9% drop off in price because somebody points out what everybody can already see was a bit much.

SSE up as well, yield c.6%.

So at these prices the market men have decided that a 4.21% yield is worth buying into. A yield that is a lot safer than some of the other above UU. in the yield stakes like Lloyds, TUI, Sainsbury, Rio etc.
No brainer at these prices, buy and forget.
