Would be great to hear news of progres re Jamaica but will TLW be too busy in Guyana now or can they do both? (from today's announcement at TLW) Tullow Oil plc (Tullow) announces the results of its Jethro-1 exploration well, drilled on the Orinduik licence offshore Guyana "This substantial and high value oil discovery in Guyana is an outcome of the significant technical and commercial focus which has underpinned the reset of our exploration portfolio. It is an excellent start to our drilling campaign in the highly prolific Guyana oil province. We look forward to drilling both the Joe and Carapa prospects in our 2019 drilling campaign and the material follow-up exploration potential in both the Orinduik and Kanuku licences."

If you look at the NPV as given at 31st December 2018 for Egypt and increase that by 40% (production increase till June 2019) then convert to sterling and divide by current number of UOG shares in issue and then add that to the share price when we were suspended you actually get around 8.2p BUT I'm factoring in an announcement on a positive decision to drill Jamaica AND the fact that we were (according to brokers, already very undervalued). Hence I added on a few pence! lol

Yes I really like the deal as well TM. Hopefully you will win the competition as the numbers do look excellent.

I've been reading RKH reports and digging into the numbers today in a bit more depth and I really like this deal that UOG are doing. They've said this was the best deal around and I believe them. I'm glad they took their time to come up with the 'right' deal. Increase in boepd production from 31st December 2018 up to 2nd June 2019 was 39%! (813~1130 (based on RKH 22% interest)) Actually 813 was the average figure for 2018 and given that by the time we have ownership of the Egyptian portfolio we'll be another 5/6 months further on from the last set of production figures, production will likely be higher still. PADYOR.

Yes either 'Sea Lion' will transform RKH or financial pressures will break them, imho.

They do need cash for their 'Sea Lion' project

Rockhopper has a tax debt to the Falkland Islands of a sum similar to their market cap., but it doesn't have to pay that until there is production.

Looking at the RKH shareprice I'm wondering if the Egyptian assets sale is a distressed sale on the part of Rockhopper? RKH debt is not far off it's market cap unless I have misread something.

The company [Rockhopper] also said that the Al Jahraa-12 development well, which is part of the Abu Sennan concession which Rockhopper owns 22% of, was spudded on August 4. The well is expected to take 55 days to drill, test and complete, the company said. The Al Jahraa-7 well, also in the Abu Sennan concession, Egypt, and was spudded on May 25, reached a measured depth of 3,970 metres in June. Tests found that net oil pay in the Abu Roash-C interval was seven metres and in the Abu Roash-E interval it was four metres. In Upper Bahariya net oil pay was nine metres, in Lower Bahariya-1 six metres and in Lower Bahariya-2, it was five metres. The Abu Sennan concession has a current production of 5,100 barrels of oil equivalent per day.

Spangle, just checked back and posted this towards end of July, may be more in the same source document... From Rockhopper's accounts to 31 Dec.2018: "In Egypt, all of the Group’s oil and gas production is sold to EGPC. The average realised price for oil was US$68.4 per barrel, a small discount to the average Brent price over the same period. Gas is sold at a fixed price of US$2.65 per million British thermal units (“;mmbtu)." and "Cash operating costs on a per barrel of oil equivalent basis remain attractive at US$11.7 per boe."

I recall seeing some production info somewhere for RKH Egypt but haven't got time to check back at the moment. I see that UOG have just issued their own RNS acknowledging the RKH RNS! Must be a positive I assume but agree we could do with some more info & context with this.

Bountyhunter - thanks for posting Have you, or anyone else, found anything detailed about these assets we're picking up, like a presentation or a CPR? Most RKH presentations focus on Sea Lion and have just a single slide with a map of fields in the licence. The RNS today sounds like the well was a success, but there's no context in which to set it. 30m of net pay sounds commercial, but are the other wells in the area 10m or 300m? Do they produce from all zones or are the Roash and Baharija separate. I guess we'll find out in due course, but just wondered if I'd overlooked any information out there

With FTSE down 440pts+ in the last week - it's not a bad time to have our shares suspended!
