10/10/2007 12:26 | I'd expect to see new highs before the end of the month if only because of the yield. 3.4% dividend payout | jhan66
10/10/2007 11:52 | This is close to a significant upside breakout IMO. The long-term declining tops line (from the highs in 2005 and then the two earlier this year) hits at around 15.5p, so if it climbs above there and then makes a higher closing high than it did this July (15.75p peak) it could be blast-off. | bletherer
09/10/2007 09:28 | Lord Harris has bid £12.50 for Carpetright. Puts some value on UCG. | lbo
27/9/2007 23:39 | Red Dog's too busy staking out his local UCM. He heard a customer was going there on Friday and he doesn't want to miss it. He's the guy with the Cagoule, the train spotters notebook and the wooly hat. He's often mistaken for the village idiot. | chela2
26/9/2007 08:41 | I see Topps Tiles like for like sales were up in todays trading statement. Not much sign of consumer slowing. | lbo

22/9/2007 10:01 | I heard it was the other way round! | startrekker
21/9/2007 11:23 | I hear rumour was HBOS had to go to the BOE too! Did you hear that? | lbo
18/9/2007 16:45 | LBO Ok thanks, now the panic is over. It'll take a lot of interest rate cuts before you see another housing boom.I think it will take a couple just to get back to the status quo. One positive will be the three million odd homes being built over the next ten years and if they build them on flood plains that'll be a double bonus for you. | startrekker
18/9/2007 12:16 | So rates will fall and just as UCG finish with all the extra carpet sales from the floods then the lower rates will be kicking in and hopefully another house boom! Sounds good! How is HBOS doing Startrekker? | lbo
17/9/2007 12:40 | They shouldn't have increased rates last time. Rates will come tumbling down soon in an effort to prevent further panic. They'll be trying to stoke up inflation. Almost everyone is putting on a brave face but underneath they are hurting. I can't see why the BoE have been so blind, they have certainly had their eyes opened to what confidence the public have in them. | startrekker
16/9/2007 16:52 | Looking for fairly Major falls in the share price next week. Looks BAD! | mr tyson
14/9/2007 16:12 | I wonder is Startrekker and Mr Tyson related? I see he is now expecting interest rate cuts now over on the HBOS thread! | lbo
12/9/2007 15:23 | What a mess!!!! | mr tyson

11/9/2007 10:37 | Looks bad! | mr tyson
07/9/2007 12:58 | Research and talking to the workers of shops on a friendly basis is not insider trading. This share is totally undervalued and a re-rating must come soon. BUY. | red dog
07/9/2007 08:22 | pleased to hear that Red Dog & I value your input, but you should maybe tone down the comments to avoid any accusations of insider trading/manipulation | jhan66
07/9/2007 08:05 | Having made further enquiries into United Carpets, I am able to confirm that the Company is now running ahead of last year and they will produce record profits for this current year. This is not only on the back of the resent floods, but the branches as whole are doing much better. Those people, who have stayed at home and not had a holiday because of the weather, have put their money into refurbishing their home including new carpets. The share price is now regarded as ridiculously low. Still recommended as a STRONG BUY and I for one are looking for some excitement as the share price moves up. | red dog
06/9/2007 10:17 | 18-Jul-07 Seymour Pierce Outperform 13.25p - - Reiteration | lbo
06/9/2007 10:05 | Business as usual at flood-damaged schools "We have had complete new carpets throughout and it is all looking great now." Building bonanza follows floods After the flooding fiasco has come a building bonanza | lbo
05/9/2007 16:32 | RNS due any day now IMHO! | mr tyson |
