Probably buying into the RBD book build as exposure will be far higher for WN even considering market cap on both companies.

In the good old days it was called 'surge capacity' to allow rapid tooling up of industry from civilian to military production. UK surge capacity has been steadily and deliberately wound down since the new superstate of the Soviet EU would not need individual nation states to be able to defend themselves. We have a lot to unwind and rebuild and especially in the heavy industries. So all the UK oilers, from UKOG to UJO need central government support, not money, but planning support. Crisis is coming and we are not geared up for rapid response.

wtd, I agree, oil and gas (and coal, shipbuilding, steel, etc) should be considered strategic resources, the industries and expertise should be protected accordingly. the prospect of a no-deal brexit has allegedly highlighted significant dependence on EU produced medicines yet we have a world class pharmaceutical industry here. as a caveat, oil and gas should imho be subject to a special "natural resources tax" put into a Sovereign Wealth Fund for the long term benefit of the nation.

The point is, on two fronts things are getting out of control, climate change hysteria and EU imperialism. Both should be influencing a significant move to self-sufficiency as far as is practical for the UK. And that is important for resources such as oil. We may find the wars start first and then the restraints with planning permission are quickly lifted for the UK. I would urge prudence and lift the silly planning blocks now. Unleash the private sector and get drill that landscape to a sponge and back.

If RBD want to get the placing away , they should provide some volumetrics.
