The prime minister has announced an expansion of oil and gas drilling in the North Sea amid ongoing rows in his party over the future of its climate commitments.
Number 10 said hundreds of new oil and gas licences will be granted off the coast of Scotland to "boost British energy independence" and "reduce reliance on hostile states".
The move puts a marker between the government and Labour, which has proposed a block on all domestic new oil and gas drilling as part of its strategy to achieve zero-carbon electricity by 2030.

We are all frustrated and waiting for something to happen. West Newton? UJO ready but is Ratlin? Doubt it Biscathorpe the wait goes on and no one can do anything, in lap of the Inspectors/decision makers. CPR--Mystery--complex document but why say June when we are now nearly in August, we can only hope its good. Gas to Grid? Told its progressing but everything is VERY slow in oil n gas and authorities take an age. Mark Abbott tells Heidi going to drill by end of year,, SHOULD he have told her that I think not --that is RNS news surely? Price of OIL Lower than this time last year so we now cannot get 'monthly' income updates and remember Govt is now taking 35% tax from those profits. All in all very frustrating but remember UJO one of very few AIM companies in profit, no debt and bags of cash--pity shareholders did not see that reward as well, how times change from years ago when would have been at £2 let alone £1!! Lets all keep the faith or go, NO nastiness--serves no purpose

They have big plans for the area- but it could get done If they stage at different times?

Could be a deal being worked with heyco, buy-out ujo ? Just not sure heyco would want rbd as a partner ?
Maybe ujo's wn asset could reverse into DBs registered sleeping company?
Or ujo hang on And hopefully see all hyco controlled assets get advanced

unlikely curry, the NSTA would have to approve UJO as operator, plus - in my opinion - DB is simply not up to it. I dont think he has the skills or the motivation, becoming operator would mean he would have to work seriously hard to run the project. Ask yourself, what does he do all year? He's a mainly passive investor

I've looked several times at the news feed from EDR and there wasn't an RNS yesterday.. Have I missed something and need stronger glasses?
