In my mind, TUNG, Kainos, Craneware all sell a (mostly software) service on a (mostly) rental basis in growing markets where there should be money to be made. Two of the three have done well (other companies that do the same thing are out there).
I have never written on the CRW or KNOS boards because they make money.

Either (a) I was wrong and need to avoid anything to do with banking or (b) there has been a (long) failure of execution in TUNG.

Would prefer (b) but (here is the point) - It does not matter why - 20% of my money has been burnt - what does one do now.

I have an account with tfs.
This was an interesting company.
It started as a place where you chose the sme you wanted to lend to. I liked that as i could lend to cos in the south west (ymmv but i think there is a moral element in investment)
This is no longer possible.
The rates on offer dropped as popularity grew.
At the moment i think the offer is a little better than a building soc but you need to accepy a LOT mote risk to get that.
Basically tfs has become a bank, the only difference is that rather than go to the long term capital markets to get funding to balance their loan book, they go to you and me.
The competetive advantage they have is in pricing risk more accurately than a bank.
As any fule kno, this is a very short term advantage and it will shrink over time.

If you want interesting look to wisealpha.

So what are they doing that the numpties running our horror show aren't ?? WE were supposed to be the next generation UK fintech company operating in the finance space?! Hell we even bought a bank to move things along and ALREADY had a working relationship with many SMEs and a trusted brand name?? The more you think about it the worse it gets? These guys are eating our lunch staying for desert AND helping themselves to the port while our BOD and past management have been asleep!

You are being rather mean to WHS.

They have made rather a lot of money for shareholders in a shrinking market.

If only TUNG had managed the same in a growing market where they can raise prices.

Riddle me this people - Tungsten Corp market cap £75MLending circle floating at £1.5bnThey lend to businesses we lend to businesses. They started from virtually nothing just 8 years ago we have had a business relationship with most of the FTSE100 and a lot of the S&P 500 ( I'm so sick of hearing that ) for decades going back to the OB10 days. They are 3 bright men who had initial business meetings in each other's kitchens we, supposedly, have some of the best brains in this industry in the hub of the city of London. They have lent £3.8bn to over 39,000 businesses in 8 years we talk of 'inflection points'.The failures to monitise this space with the advantages Tungsten have had are, not only massively bewildering and frustrating they bordering on the negligent in my opinion. We are the WH Smith to their 'Amazon'.When you sit and think about it the only reason for this is the people running the respective businesses makes you wonder why ANY of the Tungsten BOD are still in situ let alone remunerated to the extent they!Money for old rope!

maybe but in order to get things done - you need some form of internal conflict. if everyone is mr nice guy - shareholders interests do normally get left to the bottom of the pile.

Just how much power / sway / input can a non executive director have? Especially one the BOD are suspicious and very wary of? Hardly seems like the harmonious management team we need to get us making a decent profit ? It seems not much of a solution at all to me?

agreed - if goldie is minted - put some money down - will show rick the 'option man' up and shows he is committing real cash alongside his 'expertise'. at least his non exec fee as a start...

The Company is aware that Odey Asset Management LLP has received irrevocable undertakings from certain shareholders of the Company, being Disruptive Capital Investments Limited and other associates of Edi Truell, and Hadron Capital LLP, in support of Odey Asset Management LLP's proposed resolutions.

...not sure Hadron are entirely new to TUNG.

3 to 6 month time horizon - nice liquidity mismatch then with % tungsten shares held . quite extraordinary how investors buy funds who think that short term. that said, welcome aboard and they probably will sell them out at 80p when rick smashes it with a material upgrade in revenue in 3 months time..
