03/5/2017 09:23 | 200k on 27/28 April. Those are the last 2 trading days before the year end and the blackout starts. I hope that means something, but equally, right now, I am looking out the window at a cloud in the shape of a bald mans head. | andrewdbl
03/5/2017 07:32 | That's a decent amount to buy imo. IMS this time last year was dated May 24th. Not compulsory, so we may be waiting a few months yet (for full year results). | manics
29/4/2017 13:50 | "In 2015, when I was first appointed CFO at Tungsten, the team used a whole series of interconnected spreadsheets to produce the company accounts That is the pace of change currently under way, and while I suspect we are ahead of the curve, it is far from unusual to consider how switching to digital processes can help finance teams target inefficiencies. I am struggling to understand.. everyone else buys accounting software and puts some BI on top of it. Or do they still do their accounts in a spreadsheet? | cc2014
28/4/2017 15:39 | EJ Modelling is fine. If you are _running_ a business that is a bit more that 4 blokes in a shed, you need to be a bit more careful. I used to see (infrequently now, but still happens sometimes) accounts done in a spreadsheet and then 2 and then N and then someone inserts a column or does not add up the whole col (only adding rows 10 to 1000) and then things start to go south. | andrewdbl
27/4/2017 16:52 | anyone get chance to listen in to the event, I unfortunately missed it and can not seem to get a playback.... summary would be greatly appreciated... | edwardt
27/4/2017 16:51 | For those who are interested and didn't have the chance to watch it, I uploaded the Tungsten-Orbian webinar (lots of info, especially in the Q&A section) here: (there is a brief connection error at 41.00-42.00 min) | pkarnezis
26/4/2017 23:16 | anyone who uses more than a one sheet spreadsheet outside their accountancy app is pretty much admitting failure. a bit like talking up blockchain (as it currently exists) they do not scale in the real world. | andrewdbl
26/4/2017 10:12 | It smacks of some corporate suit banging the drum for his own department and therefore himself to me, it means absolutely nought if this company does not start making meaningful revenues - it's like admiring the paint job on the Titanic as it sinks slowly beneath the waves . | dollarzpounds
26/4/2017 09:45 | Well, this is it. David's been in that vernacular for at least 12 months, I remember him doing it at the CMD in FEB16. The next results will be telling. I just hope they haven't turned so many corners that they're actually going around in circles. | manics
26/4/2017 09:30 | Very impressive so let's hope they find some of that 'rocket fuel' to make some profits and budge that share price because lord knows that is certainly ' behind the curve ' it's not even at the 'C' of the curve . Come on Tungsten we have had a belly full of the fancy words and promises of the riches of the digital age let's see some of them ! | dollarzpounds
25/4/2017 22:00 | The robots are coming… Choice quotes from the article: "In 2015, when I was first appointed CFO at Tungsten, the team used a whole series of interconnected spreadsheets to produce the company accounts – over 50 at the last count. As of this month, we have a system that requires zero, and is infinitely better at giving me the information I need to advise the business on our financial strategy. So how did we do it? With some hard work from the team and the help of our talented coders to automate the process. That is the pace of change currently under way, and while I suspect we are ahead of the curve, it is far from unusual to consider how switching to digital processes can help finance teams target inefficiencies." "We are a business that in a short period of time has moved from being well behind the curve to being at the forefront of the digital revolution, and we’ve experienced first-hand the rocket fuel that people with digital expertise can bring to the financial mix." "Embrace block chain." | chemistdude
22/4/2017 09:03 | This webinar next week would be a good opportunity to look under the bonnet of the Orbian/Tungsten collaboration (or just to pass the time while waiting for results day): Can partnerships power supply chain finance? 27 April, 3pm BST In a bid to optimise their working capital and make more robust their supply chains, corporates continue to turn to supply chain finance. As part of a wider discussion on best practice in the industry, there has been a move away from talk of disruption and disintermediation, with greater consideration towards collaboration and partnership. This webinar looks at one such supply chain partnership - between Tungsten and Orbian - and asks: what were the drivers behind the venture? What exactly does it cover? What advantages does it afford both parties and, more importantly, their corporate clients? And finally, what does it suggest about the future growth of the supply chain finance solution? The webinar will be followed by a live Q&A, giving you the chance to put your questions to our presenters Prabhat Vira - President, Tungsten Network Finance Thomas Dunn - Chairman, Orbian | pkarnezis
