Lufthansa sees earnings boost from strong summer travel / Wednesday, 3 May 2023
Lufthansa has today reported an adjusted EBIT loss of €273m, improved from a €577m loss the same time last year

German airline group Deutsche Lufthansa said it expected strong demand for holiday travel this summer to fill seats on its planes and help it reach its full-year targets.

"The continuously strong demand gives us confidence for the coming months," finance chief Remco Steenbergen said today.

Lufthansa said it still expects to post a significant year-on-year improvement in adjusted earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) for the full year 2023.

For the first quarter, it posted an adjusted EBIT loss of €273m, improved from a €577m loss the same time last year and broadly in line with analyst consensus for €279m.

These line up on the weekly and the daily, Friday top up should of been bigger than it was. But a t least i did, these are being given away half price at the moment and after more research over the weekend £25 could be possible back end of next year.

I would settle for the price to rice to pre placing rights issue level

But in the meantime and until the 10 may when my other dividends materialise will hover and act accordingly

Tui is pretty much at it's lowest point ever.The summer season is only beginning. People are desperate to have decent break. Can only see this going up from here. Looking for 20 to 30 pounds in few years time. Take your pick.

Last years turnover was about 16 bn euro.

With luck the turnover could be approaching 20 bn this year, all evidence seems to indicate robust business activity.

We investors are desperate for some reassurance here, the rights issue has caused a collapse in the share price.

At todays price TUI is valued at £2.56bn, having just raised £1.58bn.
Setiment is as low as it can be, priced to fail.
