Posted at 12/8/2023 13:54 by jbog667 He was a major investor in the Odey fund so as others redeemed then the last investor, him, would hold the remaining assets including anything illiquid positions like Tri-star.Some guess work but possible. |
Posted at 09/6/2023 19:33 by jbog667 It looks like Odey’s firm is in trouble. Without a large investor trying to get value for Tri-star I think we might end up with a shocking offer. |
Posted at 10/5/2023 09:30 by mibo1 She ignored me this time. Normally I get at least a forecast for an update. That's why lots should do it to put some more weight behind the request. Investors deserve updates. |
Posted at 13/10/2022 12:30 by mibo1 Odey making profit does not mean ordinary investors like us will. |
Posted at 28/1/2022 08:00 by mibo1 I didn't say tstr shareholders, I said investors.Absolute scumbag approach not to provide updates. It doesn't bode well for investors. |
Posted at 27/1/2022 20:04 by mibo1 Their lack of consideration for any of their investors is appalling. Not a single update from SPMP in ages. |
Posted at 27/8/2021 10:26 by mibo1 Probably dTSTR’s interest may only be diluted if shareholders with 75% or more of the voting rights agree (which currently requires at least 2 shareholders): a) that capital is required to expand the project in a material way; b) to apply for a listing on a recognised stock exchange which results in the free float being at least 25% of the issued share capital; c) that an independent third party investor injects equity in the business on an arms-length basis; or d) in order to continue compliance with bank facility covenants, the banks require any of the New Loans to be converted to equity. |
Posted at 07/12/2020 13:51 by cl0ckw0rk0range So TSTR have until next December to repay loan notes to Odey, and Odey hold well over half of TSTR, and in turn TSTR have a 16% equity stake in SPMP that should now be at 100% production and throwing off cash to investors.I don't think TSTR is going to have any problems paying that debt over the next 12 months. |
Posted at 05/12/2020 19:09 by cyberbub Yes the plant seems (IMO) 90% likely to be fixed and move to full production in the next 6 months, after it seems that SPMP have got their $120M extra funding. It's not fully guaranteed though, something could go wrong technically. There are also political/legal risks if the Oman govt tried to wipe out Tristar, what do they care about a small British private company? I suppose it might be seen as negative publicity, discouraging other foreign investors etcNevertheless these are normal investing risks which have been present for years, and surely can't justify Tristar's ludicrously low valuation. So I agree that TriStar seems like an amazing bargain at < 2p, and I have bought some last week (more than I intended). But I'm wondering now whether it's slightly too good to be true... And how Odey might try to shaft the small PIs...NAI |
Posted at 30/11/2020 21:08 by dr rosso From lse bbReplyRecommendReport Post StayLong I cannot believe what an amazing investment opportunity this has now become. It’s very clear that the reason that the price is so low is because many unfortunate investors have no other option but to sell their stock due to the proposed delisting. At first I couldn’t understand why they weren’t either crossing or buying back their shares that were held in their ISA’s or SIPPS’s. Then I realised that unless you have the actual cash in your bank account you haven’t got the money to keep them. Obviously some of the investors in the Odey fund have had this problem hence the announcement of the 3% holding being sold. And I’m guessing that there are more sell orders being worked and we will soon see another TR1 . On top of this lots of investors have panicked and sold out. So basically the MM’s have an endless supply of stock that they can call upon. It seems that many investors don’t really understand what is actually happening and new investors definitely don’t. I have been heavily invested in this for a couple of years and I am still very confident that I will get a very good return. Over the last couple of weeks I have been picking up more shares at these crazy prices and have also recommended close friends to invest. At the end of the day nothing has changed, Tri Star has a 16.3% holding in SPMP THAT CANNOT BE DILUTED . The Omani’s are heavily invested in this project and will ensure that it succeeds and once it gets to 100% capacity the revenues will be huge. Tri Star have talked of a liquidity event in the future and we also know ( hence the post from Conlonboy) that Glencore are very interested in buying it. At some stage someone will want our 16.3%. I have have told my closest friends that this is very likely to be a multi bagger from here and to pick some up whilst whilst we have this opportunity. To me the only negative is the delisting, it’s not ideal because we are at the mercy of Crispin Odey and have very little options to trade our-shares. However he has the same objective as us, he wants to realise a good return from his investment. I would guess that during the recent negotiations the Omani’s probably made an offer of around 50p and he turned it down. I think that we will end up with anything between 70p and £1.50. To me this is a no brainer, just look at the facts. |
