19/2/2008 08:28 | OK...so poland had agreed the sale....but has anyone else notice the purchases going through this morning...come on.....last chance saloon.... | jwoolley
15/2/2008 17:47 | hey don't get me wrong guys. i'm more than happy to think positive thought's for a "counter-bid" :) not normally that lucky though ... | max101

15/2/2008 15:47 | Not so sure about that max....if we look at todays price...you would have to spend £177,700 just to make £2300...take away costs etc....hardly worth it. I am going along the lines that people may well be buying because they know something else....ie...another bid....am I sounding too wishful...but in truth...buys are still not drying up!! | jwoolley
15/2/2008 15:32 | easy money assuming it goes through, plus fees to take out...is it really easy money...like backing a heavy favourite...all well and good til they fall...ie bid gets rejected / hits a snag / counter bid...which then falls through. | gohunk
15/2/2008 13:31 | as i say though , easy money if u have a few £ lying around for a few weeks investment. | max101
15/2/2008 09:08 | Max - Yeah Poland have to approve the deal but cant see anything that would stop them put the rubber stamp on the deal... Strange that buying has by no means dried up...?? | jwoolley
13/2/2008 11:27 | no-one related to anyone working @ ebay or alibaba then. nice time for a catchup email :) must admit i'm surprised someone with a few £ hasn't just scooped up all the shares under £18. nice profit for a few weeks wait. Did i dream it or wasn't there something about the anti competition guys in poland or somewhere, still needing to rubber stamp the deal. | max101
13/2/2008 09:18 | yes, it has to be before the court date otherwise too late... Good Luck | sikhthetech
13/2/2008 00:17 | Hasn't any counter bid got to be made prior to the court approval in early March? If that the case, it doesn't leave much time.... Good luck all, Here's to the counter bid!!! Everything crossed...... | winston270
12/2/2008 22:04 | max, exactly and would be nice..... | sikhthetech
12/2/2008 21:25 | counter-bid ...... if it happened it would need to be above £22 ish which would be a nice jump. waste of time anything less with the SA boys geting first refusal . | max101
12/2/2008 18:54 | I'd be very careful about savings accounts with foreign banks....I'd rather have a lower safer rate.... Banks shares are cheap...went up 5% today.....whilst gold went down...most of the bad news is already in the price..I still prefer shares to gold or property...try selling your gold or property in 5 secs....try top-slicing gold or property.... Best policy 'spread the risk'.....Yes, I do collect stamps but that is more as a collector than an investor.... Good Luck all and be patient for the counter-bid.. | sikhthetech
12/2/2008 16:33 | lol, u have a point FF | max101
12/2/2008 16:21 | max101. Hi I'm not into banks if I did take the dosh out of the pep and isa it would be into the yellow metal quick. The last time I bought a Krugerrand a few months back I paid £400 for it , they are now knocking around £470. FXXX the banks. | freddie ferret
12/2/2008 15:46 | FF, something which might be of interest to you if your planning on squirreling the dosh away.... I had a quick 5 mins on google the other night thinking i'd just find the best savings provider rates and go from there. But did i get a wake up call. the more i looked into it the more i discovered the big downsides to putting it into the 2-3 foreign banks "playing" at being uk banks and just whipping them on saver rates. 3 * long nights later and i was reading all about credit default swaps. added the link as i'm sure i would not be the only one nearly caught out. There's alot more to this than just knowing not to put more than £35k in one place. even considering northern rock and the yank subprime stuff, I wasn't aware thought the whole banking world was quite so vunerable. anyway take a peek: ps don't forget, all those foreign banks offering the uk 35k protection as well as their own protection is not necessarily a good thing. ( 2 in this case is not better than 1). especially if they spend years deciding which of them should payout IF there was a need to bailout the customer :( | max101
12/2/2008 09:31 | There's not a lot we can do but sit and hope... Go, I 'delibrately' put 'M3' in my post to see if it winds you up....failed miserably...lol Good Luck | sikhthetech
12/2/2008 00:46 | Earth too mr alibaba, Earth too mr ebay, There's a big peice of pie here going for a snip | max101
11/2/2008 17:53 | Go, i can't belive they just don't sell the co and make us all a small fortune ! | max101
11/2/2008 13:46 | ps sikh...i bought the mans version of the m3 ??? ....the m5 !! ;-) | gohunk
11/2/2008 13:45 | any link between the geeza breaking tha alibab bit was at the dutch times, and duech bank ploughing in last few weeks ??? or am i clutching at straws...lol...can you believe they wont wait 4 weeks and save us all a small fortune with the tax man....shocking decision that, simply shocking.... | gohunk
11/2/2008 13:06 | It looks like we've all been shafted good style....... Let's keep everything crossed that Alibaba commence their European acquisition strategy within in the next few weeks and see QXL/Tradus as the perfect opportunity. Surely someone out there must be prepared to give a Ebay a run for their money??? | winston270 |
