Not convinced at all.

Even talk talk do a cheaper deal than toople, for only 25, talk talk offer 63 mbps, whilst toople charge 27 for only 40 mbps.

That's just not true, that TalkTalk deal is for download speed averaging 36 mbps.

(3) Toople are carrier agnostic. When fibre is rolled out they will buy, add 30% and re-sell undercutting the incumbent.

(1) Actually that Virgin deal is:

VIVID 200 fibre - up to 213 mbps

reduced from £37 to £34 a month for 12 month contract THEN £54 a month. £25 setup applies.

(2) Most cannot get fibre to the door which makes Virgin irrelevant.

"Our services aren’t currently available in your area"

Fibre is not installed in area which is why providers are under pressure to build the infrastructure.

Toople best package is £32.49 offering 80 mbps, virgin offer 213 mbps for £29, why would I change to toople?, convince me please.

With online gaming and every device connected to the internet, most are not happy with existing broadband speeds and toople simply can't offer anything decent, pass.

I am very happy with virgin, broadband speeds are unmatched. The likes of toople can never beat that.

Thanks 2mex. Lots of customers are going to be attracted by the simplicity of changing suppliers and the ease of use of the router, billing and repair service. I can now see why they are sticking to basic services while they go for market share and customer experience. The simplicity could be helping to drive the record business...nice feedback...

Good point Cookie but I don't think it relates to the number of retail customers.

The order reference with the router email said "Toople ref: 1990xx" so that will not be 199,000 orders.

I put "xx" to mask last two digits.

Many customers order more than one service so it is possible that the last 4 digits are number of orders.

riskybusiness1,

Toople IPO'd with virtually no retail customers. They had some test customers to trial Merlin. Early on they had a heavy proportion of wholesale customers which had poor margin. At the time it was commented upon that IPO at 8p was a bit pricey. Back in 2016, I would not have bought Toople until I saw performance. Indeed groundwork was required and funding followed. This made Toople an unloved stock but they continued with their growth and I believe are now far more secure than back in 2016.

The system is now bringing in a high volume of retail customers. Wholesale is better balanced with retail and has better margins. Obviously that was not the case back in 2016. Toople now have an estimated 12-13,000 customer base. They have come a long way since 2016 and have re-emphasised that they now have sufficient funding through to positive cash flow generation.

Thank you for your detailed response. What's your take on the really poor share price performance since listing in 2016? The management look like they have excellent track records & clearly have sector specific expertise so to see the share price slide so much & then a significantly discounted placing which added 700m odd shares just looks a bit iffy. They have effectively increased shares in issue by 300% which is significant dilution. To me this suggests things haven't gone to plan at all since the company listed.Have management over promised here & things haven't gone exactly to plan or things have taken way longer or what your take? Things look good in terms of momentum building but they also come from a questionable backdrop.Management is one of my key investment criteria so that's why I'm trying to find out more in terms of the story. Recent addition suggests cash is coming so having a quick look.Appreciate your feedback
