It's like a series of puzzles that are harder to solve the more that have already been solved. A bit like mining a mineral. Except you can't find new deposits as they are known and finite. Good game.

Blockchain is the ledger Sten but to mine Btc which resides on the Blockchain requires serious computing power to permutate through complex calculations to realise the 'Prize' which is one Bitcoin...

If it’s just a ledger why does it burn so much energy to create a bitcoin?? What are they actually creating. Appreciate Reb but I’m no better off in understanding.

Abandoned the 'Gold Standard SC? So you're aware of how South East Asia and in particular China is accumulating in the aged old asset presently?

...Fiat currencies are based on confidence/sentiment, really? No, it is based on fundamentals that span many factors unlike cryptos that are based purely on sentiment so again it is no different to Fiat currencies as it will still be manipulated in addition to being controlled by the 'Select Few' who have the majority holdings and dictate its price presently...

Regulation will undoubtedly constrain its volatility and protect investors but without it a 'Fixed Amount' with an exponential curve is just not possible...

Reb

Most nations abandoned the gold standard decades ago, so all paper currencies are based on confidence, ever since the first paper money in China all those years ago. That's why, with a fixed total amount and a negative exponential harvesting curve, crypos SHOULD work. Whether they do or not is up to many other factors, but I don't think they fail the test of being a currency. I don't hold any BTW, just interested in the theory.

The banking arena uses legacy systems that are not quite 'Fit for Purpose' Sten, however, Blockchain being a digital ledger of transactions ensures security, transparency, and decentralisation...

It was initially created as a clandestine system which borne Bitcoin and Cryptos in general but that was a creation in retaliation against the 'Establishment' and their manipulated Fiat currencies...

It is a huge threat to that old aged asset 'Gold' and the global US dollar whilst also having the potential to destabilise world economies so without regulation to control its absurd volatility, it could well be the catalyst to the wider market correction especially with their ridiculous valuations currently...

In addition you cannot have such a 'Store of Value' as an electronic currency with such volatility. Put simply, a person would expect around roughly the same value in their 'Store of Value' tomorrow as it is today which just isn't possible with BtC and its volatility...But as with anything Sten, if you dont understand it dont touch it...This really has all the markings of 'Losing your shirt' buddy...

It is envisaged to be an electronic 'Store of Value' Sten, so one day you're able to purchase a Ferrari yet the next you can barely afford a loaf of bread due to its excessive volatility...Think of if like the financial troubles of Zimbabwe due to Hyperinflation...The potential is within the technology of 'Blockchain' especially within the banking arena (which pretty much controls everything that we do) not futile cryptos Sten...

Its incredibly energy intensive to mine and not suitable for 'Ethical' investors whilst being based purely on greed and we all know how that ends buddy!

...It will probably be the catalyst for the wider market demise at some point...

Consumer sentiment has become rather more optimistic recently at these lowly valuations both here and the US Sten...And it is definitely not long now for some serious traction...

Wow, saying that I've just seen the trades on LSE but dont despair as its nothing more than weak 'Novice' sellers that bought into the 'Initial Hype' and are unable to realise what 'Value' can be had here at these levels...But it just requires a little patience!

...I'll say again, never buy into 'Hype' and make no mistake Cryptos will be heading the same way shortly...
