25/4/2011 20:24 | calamity, or anyone else who can help or wishes to comment. On a serious note how can the board justify managing (if that's the word) in such a way? I cannot recall any of my investments over the past 18 years being so boring and lacklustre. Many companies would love to be in a position of making good profits, have contracts well into the future and a cash pile of over £30m. We get a Chairman who seems to do sweet FA and an rns just once in a while. Clearly Joe Lewis is still heavily involved, owning 29% of the company. I expected him to get things moving long before now. Do you have an e-mail for the Chair? I would be tempted to ask him a question or two. I did try to contact him via the (recently departed FD) but I had the distinct impression he kept blocking my attempts. | littlemadam

04/4/2011 12:14 | Know no one out there is listening, but more strange behaviour today. For the last hour or so the bid has been fluctuating every few seconds between 24.5p and 24.75p without any trades going through - after dropping significantly and temporarily at the open. | grahamburn
16/3/2011 15:16 | Strange flurry of trades between 13.40 and 13.53 - in round figures there were 150,000 buys followed by 150,000 sells. | grahamburn
11/3/2011 16:47 | gartmore 12,116,857 = 5.3% | timorg
11/3/2011 12:50 | That RNS is preumably because they now own more than the notifiable limit (ie 3%), but it also looks like they may not have held any shares before. Looking at the trades on 24 Feb there were three after close of business totalling 20m+, so wonder who had the remainder..... | grahamburn
11/3/2011 11:51 | Taken a while, but rns says Gartmore now own 12m+ (just over 3%). Cannot see them previously on the register. Anyone any views? | littlemadam
07/3/2011 10:15 | I thought we might have had an rns or two, saying about holdings following such large share transactions. | littlemadam
04/3/2011 12:29 | Yes, interesting. Up slightly; if we get through 26p we are under starters orders! | littlemadam
03/3/2011 21:19 | Selling now nets the divi as capital. Selling after the divi is taken off the share price returns less capital and produces an income instead. I guess the choice probably depends on the tax position of the seller relative to those two situations. | boadicea
03/3/2011 18:39 | Which ever which way it is....someone has just chucked away a divi payment of 205K pounds plus...and someone... if they hold them till 15th April...has just gained that amount...it hasn't affected the price...so far..strange someone would hold a share that within what6weeks could make them 205K....perhaps they wanted out and this was the way with a carrot of a divi within a short timespan.... | calamity
03/3/2011 17:33 | Blimey, a 12.8 mil trade . . wonder what that is? Makes mine t'other day look a bit sad! | stewolf
03/3/2011 09:12 | My guess is there won´t be any action until the new man arrives | richandjanet
02/3/2011 18:22 | At current low interest rates the company won't be earning much on the cash, so returning say 10p/share to holders would boost the yield to 15%+ if it knocked that 10p off the share price. On that basis it might knock very little off the share price Agreed, they could do something interesting with all that cash, but my experience says they're just as likely to do something silly! If this were any normal company it would be trading around 38p - i.e. a p/e of 10 for the business on a nil cash basis (=24p) plus another 14p for the cash. | boadicea
02/3/2011 09:54 | boadicea. No mention of returning funds to shareholderas. TMW now has £31.9m in cash, which I think equates to about 14p per share. So, it ain't going bust anytime soon but the market clearly wants some action with all that loot before it adjusts the share price. I do not think a return of cash would do the price any good. We need to see them do something with the loot. I was given to understand the Chairman has been undertaking a review of some sorts over the past 5 or 6 months. I cannot see any news or sign of that. In the meantime the divi is great but, as you say corporate action has to follow soon. | littlemadam
02/3/2011 08:52 | Final results out - At a quick glance the earnings (excluding discontinued businesses) are flat, i.e. 2.6p/s for 13 months against prev 2.4p/s for 12 months. Final dividend is 1.6p for total of 2.6p (for 13 months) which is a full profit pay-out and a yield of exactly 10% at sp=24p. Apart from the generous divi, I have not spotted any further reference to the return of funds to shareholders - but as I say, it was only a quick glance. The business looks ripe for further corporate actions of one sort or another. 28/2/2011 18:16 | Stewolf. Welcome aboard, it could be good timing. Cash of £30m equates to 14p per share; profits should be £7m, which may all be returned as a divi. The interesting bit for me is Joe Lewis' holding. I understand he has been involved in the review which will probably be included with the results. Should get interesting. | littlemadam |
