Just been reminded of TPOG and TPOU by this article on the American seeking alpha site

It seems to be an inv trust that keeps flying under the radar – up 10% this year according to the website (at least as of end of May)

surely that discount (circa 20%) will narrow if that performance keeps coming through….

I sold my position in a share (ticker) DCI as TPOG has a big position in this company. There seemed no point in duplication as Third Point are better managers than me.

My payment via the Share Centre was made on the due date and reinvested back into TPOG shares as part of the reinvestment plan they offer.

I would report the HL person to higher authority as he was talking a load of tosh.

Expected divi payment today, but on enquiring with Hargreaves Lansdown was advised that as an offshore entity, payment may be expected to be a few days late. Has anyone else a similar experience as it has not happened to me before?

or perhaps someone didn't want dividend income.

The £ shares seem becalmed at the moment with the dividend (so far) having had little effect this year round.

The main fund is IIRC returning 10% to holders, is this a sign that the fund is too big to generate above average returns?

why would(probably)private investors with small holdings sell those the day before TPOG goes ex-div, with such a nice dividend - even aside from the due uprating?

I have bought and sold this stock this year and made a very good profit. However, after looking at a CNBC interview yesterday I have bought back in for the dividend and uplift which is going to come through sooner rather than later.

He has also added to his FEDEX position as well.

The Vanity Fair report is not what I would like to read in his position but I think he has very thick skin.

I will not be applying to tender. Maybe after reading the small print, filling in the forms, waiting for the cashback it would be worth it. But I am just hoping it works as a catalyst for reducing the discount and waiting to pocket the 56.4p dividend. That is a misnomer anyway because it is coming straight out of capital. I am amazed there is not more volume on this share. It is such a good entry into a fund otherwise closed to us mere mortals. This discount is going to close soon. I am only sorry to hear the Loeb financially supported Obama in 2008 and switched to Romney in 2012. Hope it was his own money!

Finally done something about the discount plus a November dividend. Great news.
