and me thinks that is what has started the rally.

Problem is that there is no liquidity in the stock and a problem for the board to fix IF the results start to show how good the NEW Chairman is.

Get the price back up to 112p the Placing Price.......and I will supply a few shares.

Just before Xmas the TIMES published a most interesting article on this company. It featured MARK HUNTER who is the Chairman of the business and what a good CV he has.

Reading last years past comments on this BB many were directed towards high salaries and company expenses which should be brought under control by Mr Hunter based on his past with Moors and before that Bass. Bass were always looking for cost savings and I expect so will Mr Hunter.

Next to catch my eye was the value of the stock and how the value can increase with age. The bankers like this sort of security and have increased the company's credit line and that should start to fill up the new Bonded storage nr Glasgow. HAS THE MARKET CAUGHT ON TO THIS YET?

All this brings back memories of a business called CAMRA - remember this as Camera Real Ale which had members who drank real ale in their pubs...........it finally got taken over and this is what may happen here.

One big shareholder is controlled by the richest man on earth and his nominee sits on the board.

For those of you who think this board is not pulling their weight then a bid will come at a huge premium over the 75p they are today.

One for 2023.

"Successfully following a clear route to growth" (new research report from Equity Development / Interim Results)

The Artisanal Spirits Company (ASC) continues to deliver on its strategy to take advantage of the sizable and fast growing global premium whisky market. Interim results released today reconfirmed robust growth in both revenue and membership in the first half of FY2022, and trading so far in the second half also appears strong. As a result, we maintain our confidence in close to 20% sales growth this financial year and reiterate our 150p fair value for the shares.

Membership numbers grew in all of ASC’s seven operating regions with the strongest increases being recorded in the UK (+31%), Europe (+33%) and Australia (+28%). Since half year end, membership increased further to 36,000 as growth in China resumed.

The notional retail value of ASC’s cask inventory, which we believe should be a focus in relation to the market capitalisation of the group, increased from £430m at end-December 2021 to £455m at this year’s interim stage. The retail value of this inventory should grow further as the company’s whisky stocks mature. Moreover, the ongoing purchase of whisky by ASC at earlier stages of the maturation process augurs positively for future gross margins.

Hopefully we will get an update on the cask reserves held - I remember that there were around 14,000 casks at the last count, which was enough to keep producing for the next 26 years. This is a hard asset that should be value accretive.

And remember one critical fact. Owners/management took a lot of money off the table when they successfully fleeced us at £1.20 a share. Do not forget this. Another thing, I know my whisky and our "commemorative" 18yo gift was nothing more than uneventful whisky. Certainly not collectible. Thats what they think of us, mug punters

I am a SMWS member, have been for 10 years. Subscribed solely for the membership benefits. I will share why I did this. A few whisky buddies asked if it was a good investment. Did my own research and concluded No. still of that opinion in spite of share price rise. I would love to invest quite a few £k but my own personal jury is out. Absolutely nobody here has given me any insights whatsoever since flotation. Still on sidelines this is no proven investment case. Ignore managemennts poodles

Yes very illiquid though stock has been available recently but like you say the presentation has widened the scan of investors. Possibly 75% upside imv if you take a long term view.

The last 7 years have been a renaissance for the whisky industry. If you cannot turn a decent profit now, then when exactly ?

Ev/sales ratios and increased membership stats are all well and good but Art need to start delivering profits and significant free cashflow from operations. My belief (and it can only be that due to fairly limited disclosures on salary costs) is that management reward themselves extremely well here already and they would do well to align with shareholder interests. We have taken a pumping since IPO

I wouldn't be surprised to see the cask stock held by SMWS worth >£1bn within 5 years. It's a no-brainer as their whiskies continue to age.

No harm in adding a few more at these levels. My buys yesterday came up as sells due to the horrendous spread!
