bill216 - yes, sales may have needed to be staged slightly to maximise profit. But IPOs would have been the obvious time to divest heavily. When plenty of froth was in the price & new investors wouldn’t have likely questioned TEK’s desire to reduce.
Just look at what’s happened to the SPs of Bell & Lucy since IPO. Not to mention the dilution. |
I thought the Special Dividend was Cliffys annual dilution of share holders for his 500k. What a dreadful share price track record. |
Yes but there's a balance to strike isn't there? If TEK sold aggressively then the people they're trying to sell to would not be so interested would they ? |
I suppose he or she could be worth following as a counter indicator as the shares they are criticising are presumably on their boss's buy list. I might do a spreadsheet to track it :) |
I encourage opposing views and opinions, however JakNife is just too biased to be taken seriously. Filtered |
Bill216 - Tek's share price gives you the answer to that.
They should have exited/reduced FAR more aggressively on or shortly after IPO.
Tek's meant to be an incubator. Not the bank of mum & dad to bail out grown up kids. |
But as TEK sold shares at much higher prices than now, isn't that good? |
I present, for your edification, a reminder of what happens to TEK's floatations.
First Belluscura, which announced a rescue placing last night at just 2p:
And Lucyd / Innovative Eyeware, which was always a disaster |
cheshire - hope you weren’t counting on BELL to monetise one of those special dividends.
Another prime case of Tek retaining its holdings way too long and being diluted to oblivion as a result. |
The performance of Tekcapital has disappointed many investors over recent years as the share price has risen and then dropped to the current low levels. What will change this situation is a material monetisation which allows Tekcapital to issue those much-awaited Special Dividends. We now have an exceptionally good chance of experiencing one or even two such events this year. On the first Special Dividend the Share Price will correct as the Tekcapital model will have been proven. See the presentation below. https://www.tekcapital.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Tek-Investor-Presention-Nov-2024-for-Website.pdf |
I agree I thoery TEC share price against asset value appears to be good - also trading today has been all blue - since the IC said tbe same though the share price has remained flat - perhaps even fallen- but maybe we will see a re-rating in the future. |

Tekcapital continues to be heavily discounted against its Net Asset Value. If one looks at the TEK percentage holdings and market valuations of its listed investee’s GenIP, Belluscura, Lucy and Microsalt and then add the NAV of Guident you get a total TEK NAV of 52.5 million pounds. With 216.9M shares in circulation, this gives you a share price of 21p. I have been invested in TEK now for several years, but this is the first year that Stockopedia has considered it to be a turnaround, it now has a Stockopedia stock rank of 66, this time last year it was in the low 20’s. |
I am in TEK but with mixed views. The IC had a good write up, which so far the share price has not been positive, so what can we expect going forward I think. Much the same can also be said of the recommendation of TMG to. Think I will stick with my major investment in AA4. |
Cheshire - you can wonder all you like.
I'm just saying what I think, backing it up with some facts.
If you think Tek & Salt are such good investments, why don't you do the same? |
I see you are talking down the share price again, I wonder why |
kiplig - you could say exactly the same about all Tek's other holdings. Whose value has fallen through the floor in the time Tek's hung onto them since IPO.
Yes, it's true a sale might reduce market confidence in SALT, knocking its share price But the mere knowledge Tek CAN sell will also undermine confidence, even if it chooses not to for now.
You are a "big believer". I remain sceptical, given that Tate & Lyle had a very similar product to Microsalt several years ago yet failed to make it a commercial success, despite their considerably greater resources and market know-how. |
You do realise that under stock exchange rules TEK is a subsatial shareholder in SALT, so if they were to secretly sell, as soon as they cross the nearest 1% threshold below their current level it is announcable and thus would send a message to the market that they are sellers and would destroy their own value. The IPO of SALT was not an exit, but rather a follow on funding mechanism. Why on earth would TEK, who understand SALT better than anyone, be considering selling now just when the company is building up and is full of opportunity? The valuation uplift from here is quite remarkable. I'm a big believer. |
Barring any imminent new contract wins, I suspect Microsalt's share price will start to drop once Tek is free to reduce its significant holding.
That's not to say Tek will immediately want to reduce. But the very fact that it can will remove a degree of support that was there during the lock in period. |
Two more days to go on microsalt! |

![](https://images.advfn.com/static/default-user.png) The case for widespread mandatory "Teleoperation' regarding Level 3 and Level 4 Autonomous Vehicles , by the NHTSA in the US grows ever stronger IMO
At present there exists a GREY AREA within Level 3 when a human driver is in the car BUT the driver has some form of driver assist / hands free , technology effectively driving the car for him ( whilst he does something else)
Simply put ---
Accidents are happening when these systems have been in operation and people are being killed
The public have lost trust
Trust is now going to be hard to win back without proper mandated Federal Safety regulations being put into place for ALL American States

Ford Lowers BlueCruise Annual/Monthly Plan Pricing, Simplifies Access to Hands-Free Highway Driving
In the US NHTSA seem at long last are taking some sort of action/s
Jan 20th 2025
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has ordered an engineering analysis of ford BlueCruise after crashes, Ford Mustang Mach E equipped with BlueCruise
AI Overview
Ford BlueCruise is a driver-assist technology that allows drivers to drive hands-free on certain highways. It uses existing driver-assistance features like lane centering and adaptive cruise control.
How it works
BlueCruise can accelerate, brake, and steer the vehicle in its lane.
A driver-facing camera monitors the driver's eyes and head position to ensure they are paying attention to the road.
BlueCruise can be used on pre-qualified sections of highway called Hands-Free BlueZones.
Benefits
BlueCruise can help drivers avoid mental fatigue on long road trips.
Drivers can pay more attention to their surroundings, such as other cars, road conditions, and hazards.
How to use it
Download the FordPass app and add your vehicle's VIN.
Activate FordPass Connect on your vehicle's center-screen display.
Turn on Lane Centering with Hands-Free in the center-screen display.
BlueCruise is available as a subscription or a one-time purchase.

![](https://images.advfn.com/static/default-user.png) Guident now have a working Teleoperation System which has been installed on driverless vehicles ( buses and shuttles) and robots
Why?
Because Teleoperation systems are now being mandated by various countries and various states in the USA
eg
2024 Florida Statutes
Definition
(96) TELEOPERATION SYSTEM.—
The hardware and software installed in a motor vehicle which allow a remote human operator to supervise or perform aspects of, or the entirety of, the dynamic driving task. The term “remote human operator” means a natural person who is not physically present in a vehicle equipped with an automated driving system who engages or monitors the vehicle from a remote location. A remote human operator may have the ability to perform aspects of, or the entirety of, the dynamic driving task for the vehicle or cause the vehicle to achieve a minimal risk condition as defined in s. 319.145(2). A remote human operator must be physically present in the United States and be licensed to operate a motor vehicle by a United States jurisdiction.

------ Guident NEW Patent coming within weeks -------
Note the use of brackets for (such as camera sensors)
Guident is pleased to announce it has received a Notice of Allowance from the United States Patent and Trademark Office for its U.S. Patent Application No. 17/579,203, entitled Near Real-Time Data and Video Streaming System for a Vehicle, Robot or Drone.
The allowed U.S. patent application is directed to methods and systems for using a remote monitoring control device to receive video and image data from and communicate with collection devices of autonomous vehicles, robots, or drones (such as camera sensors) to improve the safety of their operation. Guident anticipates the United States Patent will issue in due course after it pays the required issue fee.

AI Overview
A Notice of Allowance (NOA) from the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is an official document that informs an applicant that their application is almost ready for registration.
What does a NOA mean?
A trademark application has passed the 30-day opposition period A patent application has passed examination and is eligible for a patent
What are the next steps after receiving a NOA? Pay the required fees: The applicant must pay the issue fee and any publication fee within three months
File a Statement of Use (SOU): The applicant must file an SOU within six months
Provide proof of use: The applicant must provide verifiable proof that the trademark or invention is being used in commerce
What can happen if the applicant doesn't take the required steps? The application may be abandoned The applicant may not be able to register the trademark or patent
When will your patent be granted?
Expect your patent to grant about 4-6 weeks after payment of the issue fee. All patents are issued on Tuesdays. So you do have some time to file a continuing application, if necessary, but you need to decide upfront if it makes sense for you.

In addition :
As previously posted Germany leads the way in the EU regarding driverless Autonomous Vehicles
Since ALL driverless AV's within the EU and the UK in many cases will drive from one or more countries into other countries in the course of holidays or business eg ( driverless Semi trucks ), then a COMMON method of achieving " seamless safety " between neighbouring countries MUST be utilized.
Guident has successfully validated its European Patent Grant No. 4097550, entitled Artificial Intelligence Method and Apparatus for Remote Monitoring and Control of Autonomous Vehicles, and has obtained patent protection in 20 European countries, including: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Sweden, the United Kingdom and Norway.
The validated European patent is directed to an autonomous vehicle remote monitoring and control center (RMCC) employing distributed sensor fusion and artificial intelligence techniques that is configured to receive sensor data across multiple independently governed autonomous vehicles, including sensor data from vehicles not operating under RMCC control, determine incident risk levels, implement safety measures and take control of one or more of the autonomous vehicles when operating at an unsafe incident risk level, and return control when the risk level is safe.
What is a validated patent grant ?
AI Overview
A "validated patent grant" refers to a patent that has been granted by a regional patent office, like the European Patent Office (EPO), and then subsequently "validated" in individual countries within that region, meaning the patent holder has taken additional steps to make the patent enforceable in each specific country where they want protection, typically by filing necessary paperwork and paying fees in each jurisdiction; essentially, it's a European patent that has been made legally effective in specific member states through a validation process.
