SALT Up 8% to 89p. You would think TEK would rise in response but I don’t think the 12.5% spread is helping.

This is a presentation by TEK on the 7th Feb 2024, special dividends are still very much in the mix.

For the avoidance of any doubt, I am a long term holder of TEK shares.

2MAGPIES - I totally agree with you.

Clifford's oft-stated business model was 1) nurture holdings, 2) float them 3) reward investors with a special dividend for their trust & patience, 4) rinse & repeat.

Unfortunately, he subsequently appears to have forgotten all about the shareholder reward bit. Except for his ridiculous salary & bonus, which he's been quite happy to take at all costs, whilst overseeing the decimation of Tek's share price.

I've said countless times - both here and on LSE - that until shareholders receive their reward, they're generally highly unlikely to invest any further. Which is probably why every one of Clifford's investor interviews is like "Tek for Dummies". He has to start from scratch each time, targeting new unsuspecting punters, 'cos the original ones no longer believe a word he says.

As for scrabbling around looking for new AI opportunities, that's a MAJOR red flag for me. Bit like babies losing interest in their toys (because - to deliver - they require a bit of imagination & interaction), throwing them all out the pram, then crying their eyes out, asking for new ones.

WSM812 - I think you'll find Elie has repeatedly bought Tek at prices far higher than today's. Not my definition of knowing a good thing.

Traders are going to get burnt expecting they can talk down TEK. The US Tech stocks are making a significant comeback and its only a matter of time before the tide turns in the U.K. If you think you can get back in just before a correction then good luck.

how does it benefit YOU, as a holder of TEK??

They have all these exiting investments (and they ARE exciting) , but any uplift just gets redeployed to another 'potential'. And that's how TEK remains: perpetually 'potential', never actual.

Juts look at SALT mcap, and TEK's stake in it: is that reflected today in TEK's sp??

I rest my case.

Don't agree. Salt will be the jewel in their crown.I bought TEK years ago before Belluscura was floated. They have never splashed out. They have developed Bell,Guidant, Lucid, from their relationships with universities. I remember Cliff talking about Salt many years ago.Why would they sell it, when the story has just begun. It doesn't make sense.

If TEK does (ultimately) make any profit from it's stake in SALT, most likely, imo, it will just splash out on yet ANOTHER game-play and blue-sky what-have-you venture, and the shareholders of TEK won't see ANY of the profit.

The share price here won't respond (properly), unless a damn good dividend is promised - imo, of course.

------------- Microsalt in 2024 and 2025 ----------------

The Market Capitalisation of Microsalt is now £29.10m

There are some very large companies that have bought thousands of Tons of Microsalt product to use on specific products in specific countries

Whilst Microsalt have a proof of concept in place with SaltMe chips and the SaltMe shakers --- it comes as no surprise that big Fortune 500 companies carry out their own proof of concept in targeted markets before going in BIG

Such markets like Mexico and other Latin American countries , where Sodium content labelling requirements have now been made mandatory have imo become the testing grounds for the 50% less sodium whilst affecting the full flavor of the product which swaps over from salt to Microsalt

If the sales remain unaffected , and the consumers give the thumbs up then imo one could see names being mentioned in RNS's as bigger orders follow on.

It would not surprise buywell if the share price of Microsalt jumped 25% on the day another order was placed by a Fortune 500 company --- there would now appear to be several of these involved

Likewise if a UK Supermarket chain placed an order

Assuming any one of these companies gets better than expected resuts and consumer feedback

One of them imo will buy Microsalt and then use it exclusively across many of its product ranges

Sometime in 2024 buywell opines this will be the case

Yes Guident look well positioned at the moment and have imo made exactly the right choice in focusing upon the shuttle and drone delivery space with their Software as a Service (SaaS) solution for operational safety and provision of such services.

Low speed autonomous vehicles is imo where safety progress and operational or cost effective progress , will be made in the coming couple of years

Various events will now occur which will improve the safety and economic operation of such vehicles

These 'learnings' shall we say, --- will be picked up by those responsible for the operation of such services in the many states of the USA and agencies in other countries --- legislation changes will imo be carried out to encompass such learnings.

TEK just posted on Twitter a photo of the new Auve Tech shuttle, controlled by Guident
This is related to the recent partnership (and equity raise) one year ago, which suggested turn-key solutions

CHESHIRE - The current share price suggests I've been right to talk Tek down in recent months. I'm not a distressed holder. Just a holder who suspects things might not get much worse. But equally is not prepared to throw more money at something that remains highly speculative (given non-visibility of holdings value crystallisation).

WANTAGE - Yes, I fully get where ST is coming from. All I'm saying is he's been trotting out a similar argument for the past two years or so. During which time the share price direction has remained firmly south. He may be right this time, but if you'd followed his previous advice you'd need an almighty re-rate just to break even again.

BTW, I don't think current share price weakness has anything to do with "Large long term holders keeping this back". IMHO, it has far more to do with Tek's previous holdings losing significant value post IPO, then being further diluted by subsequent raises. Microsalt has certainly got off to a much more promising start. But to date, the trickle down effect has been limited. I guess in light of previous experience.

It's not about being right or wrong. Simon Thompson is simply making the point that it is selling at 50% discount to NAV. Given the dramatic rise in the price of Salt, their potential growth, their ability to scale in a mass market, TEK has an excellent outlook, esp with stake in Guidant.Large long term holders keeping this back.Once they are out, will easily double.

You have been talking down TEK for months and clearly trying to make money on the movement's, each to his own, but do not pretend to be a distressed holder.

So nice though it would be, I really wouldn't bank on them being right this time.
