Very minor update: No new CEO yet but there is another positive sign from Team17 in the meantime.

Team17 are recruiting for a full time, permanent Director of Investor Relations (Team17 Group PLC).

I don't expect this on its own to make the earth to move, but if Team17 are going to proactively start presenting themselves more widely, in a better light, to investors, I suspect some will bite, and the price will rise proportionately to increased demand.

Anyway, nothing major, but it makes me feel a little more secure with my own share of the company..!

Not fussed about a divi, just that it would be a nice to have to entice additional investors.

...from last month...

Company overview:

Team17 plc encompasses departments engaged in developing video games label for independent game retailers worldwide. Given the rising demand for videogames during the pandemic, the firm is likely to trade above expectations and exceed its previous operating profit of £14,001. Despite the plausible profitability forecasts, the firm’s stock price is likely to surge further, as illustrated by its high P/B ratio of 8.8x, which is above the communication services P/E ratio of 5.5x, hence organic growth will be reflected on optimised operating profits.  available for investors to buy the stock.

Brief Analysis:

P/B = 8.8, above sector benchmark.
Operating profit of £14,001m....

I hold them too. GSK has been a disappointment I admit. But there is value there and new activist investors are going to dig it out.

(TM17 holders - sorry for the off-topic)

https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/moneyweek.com/investments/stocks-and-shares/share-tips/602973/share-tips-of-the-week%3fampTeam17 (Investors' Chronicle) Video-game developer Team17 benefited from the "twin effects" of lockdown and major console launches in 2020. Profits surged by over a third to £30m. The company's own game launches generated around a fifth of its sales, while it also bodes well that the group has now completed the £12m acquisition of one of its partners. With at least 11 new titles in the pipeline for this year, Team17 should be able to build on last year's growth. 755p

Spread is all over the place and candles don't seem to be accurate representation of the days price.
yesterday said 880 high but that was uncrossed trade from day before.
general trend seems to be holding.
I think some people exited at recent high after trading update didn't materialise, so for now, next target in final results.
I'm assuming institutional investors are NOT shifting anything and looking towards future.

bamboo and tongosti, thank you for the tips! I will get to work. I also saw some recent Interactive Investor articles from Nicole Elliott that look helpful: For the record I am a LTH of TM17, FDEV & Draper Esprit (GROW) and have another 6 smaller investments. I have signed up to Simply Wall Street to assess share values and financial health and I'm very impressed with it.
Considering trading in Bellway as it has been a yo-yo stock this year but pretty financially sound underneath.

From Today's Times:

Games industry booms amid lockdown
Both investors and players have found some benefits in being forced to stay at home

Extracts...

"Like players, investors too have sought refuge in video games. The sector has been a rare bright spot on Covid-scarred stock markets. Nintendo’s market value has climbed about 14 per cent to £45 billion since the start of the year, with Activision Blizzard, the American giant behind the Call of Duty franchise and smartphone game Candy Crush Saga, up 18 per cent to £58 billion. Smaller UK-listed developers have fared even better. Shares in Frontier Developments, which publishes Elite Dangerous and Jurassic World Evolution, and Team17, which develops the Worms franchise, have surged by more than 50 per cent.

The video games sector is already the largest segment of the entertainment industry, so investors are gambling that the developers, publishers and console makers will continue to prosper after lockdown restrictions are eased. According to forecasts from Newzoo, a research group, games companies will increase their revenues by 9 per cent to $159 billion this year.

It is not inevitable that big tech will dominate the games industry. Mr Braben said the “boundaries are blurring” between TV, films and games. “Wind forward five or ten years, I expect there will be a dozen big players in the entertainment space and some of them will not be recognisable today,” the Frontier Development founder said. “Games companies will be among them.”
