bb,

As most suspect that shorters are at work, if the results are anything but half decent, expect the baddies to drive it back down to a penny share. The positive sentiment in the market is in our favour at the mo, but we know one sneeze and that mega +1/2p will become -2p!!
The games continue!

Don't let spenny hear you say that.

He'll have one out proving the opposite is true any minute now.

Did you see that! the share price had the temerity to move up so a 'seller' decided that 27.72 through to 27.68 was exactly the price they wanted, nothing more and nothing less, they didn't want that 27.8 nonsense.

Can you imagine trying to explain to 'the Sun' that the stock market isn't a cattle auction in a market town and whatever conversation I had with the Telegraph it would still end in the headline 'economic crisis due to coalition failings'

For example: there have been 2 x 65000ish buys at 27.8 in the last 15 minutes via PLUS.

Was there really not one seller who wanted 27.8p for their stock? they would prefer to get 27.68 instead?

As I say, there are a lot of things that don't bear scrutiny.

wolterix, if lil dubya was going to fail, it would have done so when it crashed to circa 4 pence. And you know that ! ;)

barf2, national newspapers love a story where there is potential fraudulent goings on. Try dropping them a line, if you word it the right way, it will rouse their suspicions.

Then you've come to the right place!

I've got a residency based on not knowing what I'm talking about.

[What sort of % of people working in 'the city' actually understand the marketplace they are working in and the mechanics of their industry?]

Whenever you see these pundits/insiders/experts etc they al talk in generalisation s and hackneyed explanations get repeated that don't bear scrutiny.

lol, 'no share is too cheap to sell' the_beagle...

I was thinking that spenny, but was also thinking that lil' 'dubya' could 'fail'

not that I know what I'm talking about

With the hedgies it's not about what downside they can actually see but what they can get it down to.

If, by way of monopolising the SETS system and feeding sells onto it to keep it down, and scaring possible buyers off with lumpy amounts on the offer when needed, they cam push this right down they can then buy all the stock back from the accommodating MM's in one fell swoop and then they will allow the share price to be chased up and they can bank all that easy money and go and attack another stock.

It is how they operate. It is how many of them made fortunes at other peoples expense.

The amount on loan can be assessed via Crest but usually relates to the previous month and doesn't cover all stock on loan.

I don't believe for one second that all the selling sits waiting for the share price to near 27.8 before they want to sell. They didn't want to sell at 27.6 or so but they have held on for just shy of 27.8p and that the SETS system can't match up the buyers thathave to get sent to PLUS at around the same point.

It is pegged and has been all through the walk down.It may be some outlandish reason such as someone wants to accumulate stock down at these levels and the MM's will do whatever the biggest paymaster wants.

barf...I see where you're coming from but surely the hedges can't see much downside here. Is it that they are closing short positions? Any idea what has been borrowed here for that purpose? There is a way of finding out but I don't know how. Bid creeping up but offer staying still.

Because hedge funds have almighty sway and they may very well want the share price to continue going down.Bear in mind they've taken this to 5p before.

Easy money for the shorters. A little assistance from friendly MM's and everyone gets a drink out of it at the end.

Same as the last couple of days they seem to have capped this at 27.8p
28p close indicates it might have broken the down channel so I think whatever needs to be done will be done to make sure that doesn't happen.
