Just having held the shares for not far shy of 20 years and having observed the performance, was there something specific you wanted to know?

It looks like pro rider is now back on track so expecting good things to come. It looks a good strategy on the basis of demographics alone. The first half EPS is as good as any as far as I can remember. The business is weighted to second half so should be on target for at worst double H1. They have made about 15p per share in H2 the last couple of years so that would give say 23p eps. I have taken their cautionary words over economy to get to say 18p.

We paid out £5.5m to buy Pro Rider and ESC. What are they adding to the bottom line and if they are why is the whole company valued at less than that having also paid out for the freehold of the HQ and factory. It feels like we never have consistent periods of growth in profits and yet the board and plc costs are huge compared to the market cap which has barely changed in the 12 years I have been invested here. Profits should have doubled after those deals....what was said at the last Agm as I missed it ?

Never a big fan of non cash write downs on financial derivatives that will unwind at some point. So we go from 756 to a net 373k after we throw everything at it. How we shareholders will ever get value here I don't know. Tiger

Eps more than doubled. Second half cautious so I have pencilled in conservative 18p eps for year. Good increase in dividend so underlying confidence for the future. So there is upside in my forecast could be 25p eps if Xmas is normal. Its a good income share with not far off 4% yield.

While the Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Belgium and France have long embraced them – almost 30% of all new cycles sold in Holland are pedelecs – the UK lags behind. But this is changing: ebike sales rose from 5% of the UK bike market in 2015 to 12% in 2016. Halfords dubbed 2017 the “year of the ebike” after a 220% sales increase. Demand for e-bikes growing rapidly globally as over number of over 50's grows. Probably true in UK so a good opportunity.

Pound looks like will be say 10% lower vs last year whereas at one stage it was heading for 20% lower so overall margins will probably hold up better than expected at the last trading statement.

Woozle agree bikes has been difficult but now stabilised and profitable.Dont agree about Toys they have very good brands and growth has been very strong over the last few years. Castkeford. Pound has been weak since the referendum and we are all about 15% effectively worse off already without having left the EU so hope its temporary. However in the last month the Dollar has been very weak indeed so pound has gained ground in the last few weeks vs Dollar and stabalised against strong Euro.

#3320, The Takeover Panel are a bunch of spineless and toothless so-and-so's who have as much chance of policing a concert party as I have of winning Olympic gold! Several years ago, when fighting a Chairman who took his company private on the cheap, I provided evidence to the Panel that he had built an effective 50%+ holding before submitting a low-ball bid underpinned by "irrevocable undertakings" from his group, including his sister under her married name and someone else who turned out to be a Trustee of a family Trust. The Takeover Panel came to the unlikely conclusion that these people had been unconnected whilst building their stake. When I asked how on earth the Panel had come to this conclusion, the answer was "Because we asked the Chairman, and he said so"!! Carry on chatting. You need have no fear of the TP.

The valuation is attractive, but do they have exposure to Toys r Us?

I've been in TND when I was a fund manager because the valuation is/was very attractive. Its markets are very tough and not least because Argos accounts for so much of its sales. Moreover, it's not sitting on very attractive licenses, like say Character Group, and it's bikes are very much secondary brands. Not that I'm the arbiter of growth but I find it hard to see where the growth is going to come from. I do agree that new management is needed as the current crop who - as has been pointed out - have been there years. We were in when Graham Waldron (spelling?) was the Chairman (he was chairman at Headlam at the time and I think that it's a boring but thoroughly underrated company). As GW came from a distribution business we thought that he could help grow the business but it's been static for years. One approach could be to pick up mismanaged or underinvested brands that would benefit from TND's distribution but I don't how many of those there are. Why don't they try and poach a senior MD from Character?

CT, Just be careful about these chats. The target over panel don't take kindly to large shareholders talking to each other. I know a very small company that was taken private because it was deemed a concert party by the panel. w1 PS Sorry not to make DTG AGM but got caught up with something at home
