Weak Dollar should help the margin here which should make a big difference to bottom line with sales approaching 40 million. Last trading update was positive so market cap of about 6.0 million looks much too low.

Tiger, I am sure Daviddosh could add some firepower. However, he and I gave up after ten years of lobbying, sometimes friendly, sometimes not. You have to shift some vested interests. A Chairman who has been there 28 years; CEO joined MV 27 years ago; commercial director 18 years. FD has only just started.....15 years ago. But they have not been idle. The empire is now worth £5m !!!

YES BOUGHT today at 118 ( the rump of the sale this morning) MM are not being fair however at 105/120 which means 15% is lost on day one. The amount of shares at .05% surprised me as there are not that many holders. If I buy anymore tomorrow I will need advice as we go over 3%. Whilst some are ISA protected others are in family names I think the issue is that we are linked. I assume Mr Bragg was not offered these off market. We have over 10% and I do think we could work together. Tiger

AGM today...did anyone attend ? Chairman, Mervyn Keene, will make the following statement at today's AGM: "For the 24 week period to 16 June 2017 revenue was approximately 5.5% ahead of the comparative period last year. In our sports, leisure and toys businesses revenue was ahead of the prior year, driven by strong growth from both licensed and own brands. Cars 3, Paw Patrol, Trolls and Batman licences performed strongly. Our own brands including Hedstrom, Stunted, Airwave and Electrick were also ahead of the prior period. Although revenue from our bicycles and mobility businesses was behind the prior period, following the restructuring exercise undertaken in the fourth quarter of last year, we are pleased to report that we have transformed the loss making bicycle business into profit. We anticipate that we will be able to maintain profitability for the full year. The launch of a new range of lightweight junior bicycles under the Squish brand has been a particular success and we are pleased with the momentum that this is gathering. Our new entry level British Eagle range will be delivered to customers from early July as we fulfil the order book for these cycles. Based on performance so far, we are cautiously optimistic for the second half of the year. Although profit margins remain under pressure due to a weak sterling/dollar exchange rate and continuing economic uncertainty, we have taken a number of measures to mitigate this impact. In addition, our forward order book is currently over 35% ahead of this time last year.

The mix of companies always has one sector in trouble but the others do ok. I think its good to have a mix and the d2c business looks to be doing ok. Huge amounts spent developing this area.....and its starting paying off. the shares are still trading below NAV which values the business at nothing and it should make circa 1.5 million last year and 2 million plus in current year tiger

MrShaunGCM I'm not sure how relevant Eddy Merckx Cycles is to TND. I think the cheapest Eddy Merckx bike is about the same as the most expensive Claud Butler. What might help Eddy Merckx is a Belgian or French winner of the Tour this year. Never mind bikes the future could be mobility scooters. On my way to the off licence this weekend I ran into an elderly neighbour. She said she was taking the dog for a walk to get some exercise. She was riding a mobility scooter the dog was in basket mounted on the front of it. I have a few of TND I'm nearly back above water hoping the share price continues to rise.

hxxp://www.bikebiz.com/news/read/2016-s-25-drop-in-road-bike-sales-hurt-loss-making-eddy-merckx-cycles/021000 Eddy Merckx Cycles of Belgium made a loss of 5.7 million Euros in 2016 on top of losses in previous years, too. The loss in 2016 was blamed on a 25 percent fall in road-bike sales, said Bart Van Muylder, chairman of the board of Eddy Merckx Cycles and CEO of Diepensteyn NV. "As specialist in this category we were hit unexpectedly hard,” Muylder told Bike Europe. ‘We were not able to compensate our decline in turnover in other bike categories as we are hundred percent dedicated to road race." He added: “Our turnover was stable although we anticipated on a growth in sales. Still we are proud we could double our sales over the past two years and we still believe in the future of Eddy Merckx Cycles.”

hxxp://www.bikebiz.com/news/read/cycling-s-2bn-annual-benefit-to-uk-at-risk-warns-bicycle-association/020955 The UK market for cycles also shrank in 2016, according to customs statistics. Figures from HMRC reveal that imports of cycle fell by 11 percent to 3 million units. The UK market has been importing about 3.5 million bikes a year since 2012. Garidis also said advocacy was needed to shape the policies and regulations that impact on cycling, said Garidis. Outreach projects would aim to get people cycling more often, and promotion would be required to "sell cycling" to those not already pedalling.

There is a fair few quid there Mr Shaun. 150k a year? Sad for those out of work. They do seem to be moving to direct sales more looking at the platform. JaykayTee I have not done my usual yet due to other pressures. The pension story needs investigating. I think once again the accounts talked the business down. however I reserve judgement till I go through them. tiger
