Quite shocking how poor the company is performing. Benefiting from 300k a year windfall from buying their own building and they can still barely report higher pre exceptional profits than last year.

Todays trading statement.

Operating profit for the year was marginally ahead of last year. However, due to the impact of exceptional restructuring costs, pension scheme finance charges and adverse foreign exchange variances in respect of currency contracts held for future purchases, profit before taxation was substantially behind. The year end currency contracts fair value adjustment referred to above was approximately GBP0.5 million. This adjustment will gradually reverse as contracts mature.

HOW ON EARTH can you blow 500k on currency contracts when the pound STG is getting stronger.

UNLESS Peppa the pig was buying USD against the pound.

Either way with over a million before they start taking silly excp items and valued at 3.5 million makes it look far too cheap.

I think if targets hadn't been met we would have had an announcement so they must have made at least half million profit in second half. If they can continue on that trend then pe is less than 4.

Should not complain....but a trade at 78p seems someone paid over the odds. Has this been tipped somewhere ?

Hi, Ive been watching these for years. Whilst the BOD remain in charge,
any money invested in TND is money down the drain.
BOD will happily continue to milk the company, at the expense of shareholders.
Until there is a radical change in management, its not worth investing here.
All IMO.
ps I dont hold any shares (sold out for a small profit when GG sold out).

new Dawes range (2014) has had prices tweaked upwards i understand - this should be absorbed by dealers without loss of units sales - providing the market stays at least static
new upmarket kids range should offer competition to isla bikes and "frog" - a new market place for them

hopefully a better yr ahead for the group

I've been casting an eye over tnd, after it came up in a screen. On the face of it, it looks like a company experiencing severe problems judging by the recent share price performance, but on the other, it seems to have some (potentially) valuable and well known brands.

I know it's probably in a tricky sector at a tricky time, but is there any room for future optimism here - perhaps through the actions of activist shareholders, or through any radical actions planned by the bod? Or even potential m&a activity?

Any thoughts welcome, and of course I'll also dmor!

80,000 shares........quite a trade size....wonder who ? seems no size on the bid......so might be a seller ? but,non Board, David and myself, not sure there any other holders of 80,000 ?
