08/10/2010 13:53 | Looks like someone (DD?) has been snapping up LOQ and TND. Great movements in both share prices. | bozzy_s
08/10/2010 13:03 | Huge demand for TND shares over the past couple of days, thought I might add some to my 18.60% stake to take it up to 19% and found that the most I could buy online was 100 shares. That will take a couple of hundred trades. Will wait until people cash in, altho' still cheap at these levels on an ex cash basis. Looking at buying a business and wish all valuations were as keen as this one, strange what people believe their businesses are worth (my rant for the day). gg | greengiant
07/10/2010 11:14 | not been around much as I have been on holidays and working lots, after all I have to make a living day to day. This is turnong out to be one of my best investments this year. Cant see the write up making much difference, existing holders hold but new holders buy????? what is that all about? David that seems to be a brilliant idea why dont you or andrew contact the company and ask them whether it is going to happen. Maybe even appoint a pr firm, after all that is what they get paid for and the directors should be concentrating on the business rather than trying to get pr done. | neverforget
07/10/2010 10:49 | The results should be in the week of the 18th October probably midweek. So long as they keep away from Friday. It would be great if they arranged a conference call on the morning of the results or had one of the guys available to do some positive PR meetings with analysts and media etc as the numbers will paint a very pretty picture. | davidosh
07/10/2010 10:34 | Stemis, thanks for pointing that out. Thought there had to be some reason for this move. All very good ! Do you have an idea when the results will be ? | grahamty
07/10/2010 09:51 | David, Yes. I tied the first bit into Tandem as a positive. The second, I assume Haalfords is losing its way and is probably down on the day. Yup, just checked currently down 6%. Look again at the Wiggle article | yoyoy
07/10/2010 09:39 | Did you guys see this in the Halfords trading update today ?.... The Cycling market in the UK remains attractive and continues to grow. While set against particularly strong comparatives, a like-for-like sales decline of 1% was relatively disappointing and reflects short-term weakness as a result of delays in the re-launch of new cycle ranges during this period and increased levels of price competition. Sales of Boardman cycles increased by 40% compared to FY10. We are now taking steps to re-align our range and pricing of cycles to more accurately reflect current consumer needs and tastes. | davidosh
07/10/2010 08:37 | Stemis, You are quite right, here is the link gg | greengiant
07/10/2010 08:26 | Actually it was picked up by the tipsheet, UKMicrocap, one of the t1ps stable, so no doubt there's a few who followed it into the stock. | stemis
07/10/2010 07:33 | Somehow i think they may rise again today too :-) I don't think results are out in the next day or two - possibly next couple of weeks though - any ideas gg? | supreme mo
06/10/2010 22:40 | Thanks Andrew. Just thought there might have been an article somewhere that I missed. Agree with general positive background. Simon | grahamty
06/10/2010 19:55 | GG, I think you will find that investors are transferring The Telegraph's article on Wiggle, the online cycling retailer, onto Tandem. (edited) "Wiggle thanks 'middle aged man in lycra' for record profits Wiggle, the online bicycle retailer of which former Asda boss Andy Bond is a non-executive director, has sprinted to a record year with a 59pc increase in profits" | yoyoy
06/10/2010 19:18 | grahamty, Don't think so, I have been keeping track of the shares over the past month and we have seen some pretty chunky sells (around 25k net sells). Over the past 2 - 3 weeks this has stabilised with buys and sell netting each other out. But certainly for the last 2 weeks you have not been able to buy in volume (most days between 500 and 1,000 shares - and today as low as 100). Still undervalued, consider that the company stated the following in its trading statement - "In spite of US dollar volatility, increases in freight and raw material prices, shipping line disruptions and Far East labour shortages we expect the profit before tax for the half year to be ahead of last year." As a recap, at the half year last year the company reported Operating Profits of £615k and Net Profits of £734k (EPS of 12.75p). With cash generation being good, should also see cash balances go up. This is taken from the AGM statement - "The Group continues to strengthen the balance sheet, stockholdings have been reduced and this has resulted in an improved cash position." So assuming that cash converted = Operating profit - cash balances should be edging towards £2m. Add to that a plan to kick start growth and a dividend lobbed in with the potential of an updated broker forecast after results - this to me is extremely positive. gg | greengiant
06/10/2010 15:18 | No news is there here ? Is there an article somewhere that I have missed ? | grahamty
13/9/2010 10:13 | There is an interesting thread here regarding the choice of a new road bike.... I see the Dawes Galaxy was a late consideration. | davidosh
08/9/2010 08:45 | David, I was there as well, grahamty. I have got yr details and will contact you direct. Agree, good meeting. They come across as passionate, knowledgeable and aware of concerns. Raising the profile is more difficult than generally understood. Until they get to c £25m market cap, they do fall below the radar of most institutions, all brokers/researchers and journalists. Maybe the LCF, GCI, IC route would get some coverage ? Will keep in touch Simon | grahamty
08/9/2010 06:32 | davidosh - lol, It was a good day, the board understand what they need to do and you can now see that the board are motivated to begin to drive this business forward after years of consolidation. From a personal point of view, even though I will still be checking in here, I will be taking a break for a while to enjoy the end of summer with family and friends before a busy 2011. Congratulations to the Board, who have listened to shareholders and addressed their concerns, and congratulations to those who have remained true and continued to hold. gg | greengiant
07/9/2010 22:02 | Just to keep everyone up to date with events...The three main board directors (JS, SG and MK) were all at the presentation and it should now be available for everyone on the website. Unfortunately due to the tube strike we had to start slightly late and 9 who had originally indicated they would be coming were unable to attend because of transport problems. We had a very informative meeting with lots of Q&A and finished three hours later. Those who made it.... greengiant marben100 davidosh Cornelia (TMF) asagi campmar (TMF) Hargreaves Hale representative StephenC kramch grahamty Tony Rawlinson (Cairn) Classic moment.... SG says " We have some very good techy guys who are passionate about bikes" MK adds " yeah we need em, I dont think SG has been on a bike in the last twenty years!! " Well done to all who made it even if like me you had four miles of walking each way to stations. A real shame that those pesky union men got in the way of double the numbers seeing the detail and effort put into the presentation first hand. PS. The chocolate coated cookie crumbles with a fudge flavour were the best I have had at any meeting over the last two years and a very decent lunch so great hospitality too. PPS...I think we need to rename greengiant as Joseph after that multicoloured shirt he was wearing today.....lol | davidosh
06/9/2010 20:26 | The buses are still running and it is not too far to walk from the mainline Rail stations that are open. | davidosh
06/9/2010 20:23 | Watch out for tube strikes tomorrow guys... | supreme mo
06/9/2010 17:37 | Nice new website :-) gg | greengiant
06/9/2010 10:22 | The numbers are growing still and there will be representatives from at least four private client nominee companies which is very good to see. For those concerned about the tube do not forget that the City Thameslink train runs through the City and between Blackfriars and Kings Cross so another option. I am keeping a running list for the investor presentation at the offices of Grant Thornton, 30 Finsbury Square, London EC2P 2YU at 10.00am on Tuesday 7 September 2010. 05/9/2010 10:49 | grahamty, To be honest I am not too fussed about the movement. Value will out here over the long term if the board deliver on a cohesive, focused strategy. A few buys or sells moves this disproportionately due to its liquidity. gg | greengiant
04/9/2010 18:45 | gg Any thoughts why this did not hold above the 130p level ? No clear headroom above previous highs ? Was no real wave of selling | grahamty
04/9/2010 07:34 | Some news about our company gg | greengiant |
