Back in at a 110.7, looking for this to retest 120 in the not too distant future.

I do hope there won't be any unpleasantness:

Talktalk Telecom Group PLC (LON:TALK) finally got something to cheer about on Tuesday, with its shares up over 10% after a reassuring trading update.

However, the brighter picture could be short-lived for the FTSE 250-listed broadband and telecoms provider as its shareholders will gather on Wednesday for what could be a stormy annual general meeting.

Testing 120 for the third time in recent weeks, will be interesting to see if 150 is realistic if the current trading ceiling is broken.

Seems that way, although you never quite know which way the markets are going to dive on these announcements (plus another MM opportunity presents itself for rinsing out stop-lossers).

Although un-evaluated, interesting comment on WLA (Wholesale Local Access) savings, all grist to the mill.

There's a webcast at 09:00 today:

Solid numbers continued growth and progress with full fibre rollout. Another step on the road to recovery, the partnership or takeover value of TALK increases with each step forward imo.

Interesting ad just on TV stating that talk talk to offer cheapest sky sports package at £15 per month if you take their broadband.

Decent deal imvhpo. Especially pertinent with new football season imminent.

The FT reports today that :

1. "Hammerson under pressure as Elliott ups stake"

, writing that activist investor Elliott have increased their stake to 5.3% spooking management, and

2. "Premier Foods chief feels the heat as activist doubles stake",

as activist investor Oasis Management increases its stake to 17.3%. The FT continues in quoting Oasis that " Our increased stake demonstrates our deep commitment and belief that, under a different CEO, the company will be in a better position finally to capitalise on its many options for shareholder value creation".

ACTIVIST INVESTORS DO NOT BUILD STAKES IN COMPANIES WITHOUT GOOD REASON AND/OR WITHOUT HAVING A SPECIFIC AGENDA IN MIND.

Read today's FT articles.

COMPARE AND CONTRAST what Elliott and Oasis are doing.

Elliott - Hammerson - 5.3%
Oasis -Premier Foods - 17.3%
ToscaFund - TalkTalk - 16.2%

2.

The heat is on.

Page 18 in today's influential Lombard Column in the FT , leading article headed;

" Shareholders right to fire pre-emptive shot across TalkTalk's bows ".

Seems like Executive Chairman has not done himself any favours by cutting out rank-and-file shareholders from February's £200m share-placing, as the FT article puts TalkTalk's decision to ignore normal and cherished shareholder pre-emption rights under the spotlight. -Full article by Kate Burgess well worth reading.

In my opinion, it just doesn't seem like fair play or good corporate etiquette or acceptable corporate governance to cut out rank-and-file long-standing loyal shareholders in favour of new shareholders such as Tosca Fund.

Looks like next week's AGM is set to be a zinger-stinger.

3.

In my opinion only, it's almost as if TalkTalk may or may not be welcoming the stake-building by highly regarded Tosca which has a strong reputation and track-record for shareholder activism and shaking up the Board and senior management of its investments.

It's a bit like inviting the neighbour's rottweiler round for tea. You wouldn't normally want to do that....

Wouldn't surprise me in the least if The Board don't come in for a lot of tough questioning from Investors about a variety of matters at THE TALKTALK FORTHCOMING AGM on WEDNESDAY 18th. July - An unmissable event perhaps.

Already The FT is suggesting on Page 19 that the February £200million share sale will "come under scrutiny" at the AGM because it was not offered to all shareholders. - Although certain entities/investors such as ToscaFund seem to have been favoured with an offer to participate which they wholeheartedly availed themselves of.

The same FT article quotes the IAabout the £200m share sale who said that "Pre-emption rights are a vital share-holder protection" and also who said TalkTalk's actions were " a blatant disregard of industry-accepted standards" and the IA issued at the time a "red-top" warning.

I can imagine also that there may or may not be also questions as to:

-why the B2B sale to Daisy was pulled AND NO EXPLANATION WAS GIVEN.

-what the current status is about the replacement of the outgoing COO.

-whether any of the Board have met with Tosca.

Will write more later.

"ANOTHER COMPANY RUMOURED TO BE COMING HOME IS BRITISH TELECOMS GROUP TALKTALK.."

A fascinating article on page 20 of The Weekend FT which raises many pertinent questions about just what is going on at TalkTalk.

Will write more later.

As an aside, interesting that Michael Dell who TOOK HIS COMPANY PRIVATE (on the cheap) in 2013 is now bringing DELL back to the market by IPO at a vastly higher figure.

Poised to go ballistic....

Does it seem likely that TalkTalk are oblivious to the 16.2% stake-building by Tosca?

I don't think so.

Does it seem plausible that The Board of Talktalk have not taken note of Tosca's massive 16.2% stake?

I don't think so.

Does it seem likely that management of TalkTalk haven't yet met with their recent major new shareholder with a 16.2% stake?

I don't think so.
