Arix, management taking £5m pa in COMP is a put off

what is the syncona management remuneration ?

The market clearly much prefers syncona, i agree and also have a minor arix holding, just out of the outrageous drawings

Itinvestor, but ARIX mkt cap is £215m whereas SYNC is £1.9bn...

In any case, I won't mention again on this thread, it was just a heads up to a similar style company.

I looked at Arix after a mention on this thread but quickly concluded that it wouldn't add much incremental value over and above Syncona and I much prefer Syncona's business model. That said, if I had some spare cash Arix looks ripe for a spreadbet buying on the expectation of a bounce back. Risky though, as is the way of spreadbetting.

Arix own 8% of Autolus and Syncona own 38%.

I’ll have another look. Interesting area. I like private equity type companies so am also invested in Melrose and Burford.

brexitplus, I agree that SYNC is more classy, and I've held onto most of my shares. But ARIX does hold some interesting stakes, has over £100m cash and is approaching a 20% discount. An rns revealed an overhang has been cleared today, which explains why the share price has rather drooped recently. Could offer a trade, if nothing else.

Autolus up again today. I’ve looked at Arix but I’m not as impressed with it as I am with Syncona.

Odd Arix going down when Syncona going down. Perhaps investors switching.

For my part, I think Syncona has a better team, structure with no debt, and portfolio. Still it is trading at a big premium, but I think has a faster route to selling companies.

If it's AUTL exposure one is after, then ARIX currently offers the biggest hit. Its £74m stake covers a third of ARIX's mkt cap. Add in a big slug of cash and a bunch of other interesting early stagers. In any case, it tempted me in recently and is worth a look for folks interested in the sector. Imho.

Autolus hitting new close of day high yesterday may have influenced. It’s very much a lock in the bottom drawer stock with numerous long term blue sky prospects. As such I imagine shares are tightly held, and any demand will squeeze share price higher.

Hard to say, the US clinical trials were due to initiate in H2 2018 for Autolus on DLBCL, ALL and Multiple Myeloma cancer classes. A lot of chatter over that perhaps?
