This was from Nobbygnome who answered a similar question re the trial-The trial was in asthma not COPD. And it didn't fail, there weren't enough exacerbations to get a good result plus a lot of the patients got a bacterial infection not viral. The latter point has been resolved by a POC test in the COPD trial which shows the patient has got a virus.So plenty of hope for a positive result this time especially as when they analysed posthoc the patients who did have a viral infection, they got very good results in the asthma trial! These results were published and I think can be accessed on the SNG website.

Is anyone aware of a previous tie up with SNG and AZN but AZN did not take it further due to poor results?
