28/9/2020 14:46 | SloppyJoe 13600 The government, including health ministers, have no say in the licensing of medicines in the UK. Licence applications are reviewed by the MHRA, who act at arms length from government. They will be the ones who will decide if SNG get a licence for the treatment of Covid. I would expect this application to be fast tracked through MHRA review, but it still takes time to a) put the submission together and b) MHRA to review it and make a decision. Vallance also has no say over what medicines are licensed in the UK, he is an advisor to government and does not work for MHRA, so there is no conflict of interest here at all.
